I agree, but it is BB...not a learning tool nor a place of genuine ethics, just output box ticking ethics

Neither my suggestion or yours would be part of what BB is. Both would be more responsible than what happened. i wholly disagree with what I know of what he said, but their response isn't helpful.

Agreed, It seems the BB producers have never even heard the expression "freedom of speech".

To kick Biggins out of the house because they don't like his barmy opinions or conspiracy theories is censorship pure and simple. I find the BB producers far more offensive than Biggins to be honest.

Exactly . I would rather debate the issue with such people or if they are too entrenched to debate with then at least I'm more aware of their views for future reference.
The people we need to fear are those living in our midst while holding horrific views , as recent events in France have shown . I prefer to know who is who and what is what , out in the open so I know where people stand .
In the grand scheme of things Biggins silly theory is not on my radar other than my view that punishing him for it just to drum up publicity is deeply unfair .
If they with hold his fee I hope he sues for it . He put his time in to the best of his ability and at his age it wasn't an easy gig suffering that lot .

As has Bear, by physically damaging the house, as has Colin with his threatening behaviour. Yet both of them are still in. Something that irks people is the complete lack of consistency from BB.

So did Jason break the rules when he smashed the diary room up. He won the show.

So did Bear break the rules when he smashed the diary room up. He will win the show (with BBs help).

Smash the mirror and then door of a hotel in which you are staying and the cops will be called, come along and arrest you.

THAT is what truly aggravates me - twice he's said anti-bisexual things and nobody has contradicted him. In the case we saw tonight he and Renee were agreeing with each other. People keep saying it's stifling debate, nobody wanted to debate (were they alone the time we saw today?). It's not a debate when two people state ridiculous things as fact with no contradiction.

There are two or three people in there who I think would have said something had they heard it, but then again it's Biggins (and Renee), so who knows!

Having said that it's hard to truly condemn Biggins without knowing fully what had been said on monday in regards to his conversation with Katie but that's the unfortunate thing about ch5 these days they show us what they want us to see..

Also there's a part of me wondering if the only reason they left it till tonight to show his removal and not last week is viewing figures for the weekend are usually lower than during the week also no bots so there's no chance of discussion which is good for them.”

I admit I only watch with one eye on Saturday - because we've seen most of it on Friday with the episode being mostly the eviction and the live bit we saw, but tonight I did pay a lot more attention.

I still think they were told by the legal team not to show what happened on Monday, which I think we should have been shown.

James asked Biggins twice if he actually believed what he was saying. Then gave him a bemused look and left him to it. Sometimes ridiculousness doesn't need to be challenged on account of it being too ridiculous to even debate.

Winston?

I have no problem with them removing Biggins. What he said was stupid and ignorant. I do however have a problem when other people are given less sanction for equally bad or worse things.

You'd have to be a pretty fragile and delicate little thing to be offended by his comments that were aired tonight surely? Or is it just me that thinks it was a big fuss over nothing?

It's not just you. It's two thirds of this forum and 86% of twitter.

bib - I agree absolutely with this.

The only other way that BB could have played it was to turn it into a task - play the remarks to the housemates and have a pro and con team. I'm really surprised they didn't do this to be honest, they've done it before. MAKE them debate it, make them express an opinion and get out of their safe zones.

Hahaha Yes, when did that happen? Must have been in-between the fat shaming program and the poverty porn!

I agree with the bib.

I don't think he should have been removed, a stern final warning should have been given and I do think they should have spoken to Renee (which they may well have done and, again, not shown us).

I also think they are hiding how many times they take Bear into the DR to talk to him, on Live Feed he seems to get called in there regularly!

You don't think there are many bisexuals ? So how many of us has your research uncovered ??? And in your clearly vast experience this hate you talk about, what form does it present itself as I have never come across hate .
Also what do you mean by misconception.....

I disagreed with Biggins comments about a is wanting to be gay but I took his AIDS comments as his view point and there being a certain amount of logic , albeit it misguided. I am sure one way AIDS spread through the hetro community was from cross gender and sexual orientation sex but that was one wY only. I don't think he should have been kicked out for an opinion during a discussion. I find Renees views far more offensive .... Like not giving guns to non American citizens (surely that counts as racism in a massive form).

Absolutely, so do I. If BB is the moral arbiter (as it certainly should be in cases like this), it must apply sanctions equally.

It used to be this way in BB but ever since the Shilpa Shetty racism the producers have had a hair trigger on anything controversial. Housemates used to make the rope and hang themselves with the public then voting. It was a learning tool and a place of debate of ethics but since the international outcry they cannot afford to let it happen in any form.

BUT being horrible, vindictive and using mental cruelty is tolerated.... in fact encouraged by the production team. It is hypocritical on many levels.

If Bear had said what this disgusting old bigot did, there'd be a lynchmob with pitchforks! Sickening that the twitter brigade think it's ok for bisexual people and aids sufferers to be discriminated like this.

List what he said that offends you and what is untrue? I doubt there would be a lynchmob and pitchforks for Bear, he's not that important lol

What was discriminating about what was said? what was said? do you actually know? lol

Bear has said worse than making a joke about something where millions of innocent men, women and children were mercilessly killed?

Go on then enlighten us.

No one is defending him, we're defending his right to express himself BB should've taken steps to make sure it wasn't aired on Channel 5 or have shown the warnings Biggins got for the bisexual talk. I don't like what he says but I'm not gonna force him into my thought of thinking. I would've done the same thing if Bear was in his situation, don't judge people too quickly.

The bisexual conversations were given prominence but it was the ethnicity 'joke' that did for him. Deemed so bad that BB decided we're not allowed to know what he said.

I don't like either of them, prefer Bear stays over boring Biggins but as a housemate I'd find Bear winging something across the garden and breaking a window much more offensive than someone making a Nazi joke.

Edit: misread your post, you asked what Bear said as opposed to what he did, fair enough
