Good to read that Brucie's health is improving.

He looked awful in that clip he recorded for the last special!

Best wishes to Bruce for his recovery.

Hope he makes his target of participating in the Christmas Special.

Glad to hear he is recovering - but I don't really want to see him doing Strictly again - the show is SOOOOO much better without him.

Sir Bruce Forsyth has been associated with three of the biggest light entertainment shows in the history of British television and for that he deserves great credit but for goodness sake is his ego really that massive it wont allow him to leave the stage permanently. The last few years has seen him become more of a laughing stock than a presenter. He should have been forced to stand sown once hitting 80

One special ep of Strictly per year at Christmas, he should be forced to stop doing that and working in general ? To some he is a laughing stock but that says more about those that laugh than him.

I honestly don't think there is a snowballs chance that he will present again - but if the thought of doing it is giving him something to aim for, then it's all good.

Others have managed to "leave the stage" and were equally big as Forsyth in the odd case. Why should he continue to come back even if it is only once a year. His way of reminding us he is still alive. NO THANKS Lets move on

People retire when they feel the time is right, some do occasional work , it is not for us to tell anyone it is time they stopped.

There's no reason why anyone shouldn't tell him that his petulant and irascible behaviour and the number of times he "lost it," in his last series, did more harm to his reputation than he imagined.

That's the problem, some don't know when to call it a day. The worst are some old performers who imagine they can still sing.

I think a guest judge role could be the best Bruce could hope for.

I believe his presenting days are well and truly behind him.

His days of presenting live shows are definitely over - his appearances since he "left" have been restricted to the pre- recorded specials......

Given the length of time it has taken him to recover from his operation, I very much doubt he will be able to do even a recorded show..... They take a long time to do, and his health wouldn't allow him to hang around for hours in the studio while they get things just right, or have to re- record his bloopers umpteen times

I've not been the biggest Bruce fan since the 1970's but if the thought of getting back to some sort of presenting is the spur - however pie in the sky it is in reality - to aiding his recovery than that's fair enough.

I must admit that I would prefer if Brucie were to bow out gracefully, but it may be that his goal is to recover enough to present this one Christmas special and then to step down, so that in his mind he's left through choice and not because illness forced it upon him. I imagine that could be quite important psychologically at his age.

And at least the Christmas special is pre-recorded, so while it might be a long day for the studio audience, the tv viewers get to see it after it's been edited, so it could be worse.

In two minds about this one.

I like Bruce and would like to see him present at Christmas but I feel the show has moved on with out him. At the same time, while I have never been the biggest fan of Claudia, I think it would be unfair if she is booted off again (like in 2014).

Maybe the best solution would be have all three present the show, and maybe make this Bruce's official last show, go out on a high and all.

Massive ego. Well past it, but won't let go. Supreme arrogance, but then he never was over- endowed with brains, was he?

Silly old man It's just embarrassing to watch!

Yes, and for someone who has a net worth of around £17 million, with a lengthy career in show business (including Guinness World Records recognising him as having the longest television career for a male entertainer) he's not done too badly for someone who who supposedly has never been "over- endowed with brains".

Unfortunately, if he does do the Christmas Special there will be many who tune for the sole reason of seeing how much more doddery he's become and not to enjoy the show.

If Bruce is well enough I hope he returns for the final, I think it would be nice for him to be there at Len's final show.

I agree. He can pop in and it will be nice to see him to see him nice! Well for me anyway. He isn't up to presenting. Mind you he hasn't got a lot to beat as the presenters are the weakest on UK entertainment programme. The programme carries them!

There was a discussion on my local radio station this week comparing Strictly with X-Factor, saying that X-Factor is on the way down while Strictly is still on top. They all agreed that Strictly has moved on since Bruce left and that the two women are doing a great job, while Bruce's last couple of shows had become embarrassing with him getting cross and messing up with the autocue.

Agreed, Tess and Claudia do a great job (with Zoe in the wings ready to step in if needed).

It would be good if Bruce could make an appearance for Len's final show, also it is always good for someone who has been ill to have a target like that to aim for.
