ironically the ONLY other one I remember INSISTING on having ALL his titles listed was Savile. on Jim'ill fix it for instance the credits were as long for his "honours" as everything else
Now he's only remembered for one title!

None of the entertainment Knights (or Dames) insist on being introduced with their title - apart from Bruce.

The fact that he does just shows what a sad vain creature he is - "Look at me - I've been knighted..."

Look at the other far more talented entertainers who have been honoured..... Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Patrick Stewart, David Jason, Elton John, Cliff Richard, Ben Kingsley..... none of them shove their titles in the publics face - it's only the least talented and least deserving one who does.

Who knows who insists, its all idle speculation.

You can bet your life the old codger did.

The use of titles in a show is pathetic.

I don't ever want to see him on my tele again! Let alone on Strictly! Love it now I can watch live instead of late so that I can zoom through him! Vane horrible man! Why does the BBC insist on using old tired faces. Give new talent a chance 😡

He's broad and flat?

I don't know where you've been for the last few years but the criticism of the BBC has been that it doesn't use nearly enough old faces what with ageism endemic and all that.

It is unfortunate to have to say it, but new talent has no talent.

Notice that he's made no comment himself or through his spokesperson about this year's main show. Strange considering he was so enthusiastic about it when he was on it.

And there's been no word at all about him or his recovery since the beginning of September. Planning for the Christmas Special must be well under way.

It now appears that Bruce Forsyth will NOT be returning to the Christmas show - he certainly looked very ill on the inserted video clip last year.

How many of us predicted he had no chance of coming back?

No doubt there has been no contact from the BBC to him, as they didn't think it wise for him to return in any capacity.

He should just concentrate on getting better and enjoy a well earned retirement.

You will be old one day. I hope no one is that unkind to you.

No it still isn't , unless you wish to tell every employee in the country when to retire as we fund all people by shopping where we spend our money and our taxes in one way or another etc Forced Retirement ( DRA) in general was abolished and has never existed in entertainment, you don't force someone to retire because you personally don' t like them or they no longer appeal to you.
Absolutely right. You 'force' them to retire when quite patently they can no longer do the job they are being paid (handsomely) for

Or maybe you should hope they are , it might make people think before they state such things and realise how unkind they were.

If he's well enough I hope Bruce can make it into the audience for the final, if only for Len's sake but I imagine the best we will get is a video appearance

Later in the day his manager denied the reports.

Bruce Forsyth: no decision made on retirement despite reports, says manager

Sir Bruce was always too talented for a show like Strictly Come Dancing.

Well he thought so, that's why he kept trying to turn it into his show, too self-obsessed to realise the chaos he caused, time and time again, by not sticking to the script he was given.

The show was well rid of him and his presence far from missed, except by you of course.

I honestly don't think there is a snowballs chance that he will present again - but if the thought of doing it is giving him something to aim for, then it's all good.
Exactly this

As always, Terry, your spelling is quite atrocious.

You meant to write Sir Bruce was always too egotistical for a show like Strictly Come Dancing

Tabloids scratting around trying to find out how ill or not Brucie is. Run made up stores that his agent has to respond to. Leave him alone. He's nearly 89. Trouble is if he appears in public the vultures will descend saying how awful he looks. He's 89! His age is catching up with him.

Kingsley certainly does insist on it, Maggie Smith told the story when she on the Graham Norton Show, and jokingly referred to him as Sir King Bensley.

Brucie plays the BBC like a cheap fiddle, he always has. And nobody at the Corporation has the balls to tell him 'No thanks'.

For heaven's sake , he's 88 years old and is several decades past shelf life!

do wish people would lave him alone, in fornt of his TV at home with Winelia dishing up the cocoa.

The journalists are going overboard - boring boring - becasue they can't find any thing else to write about, like the decent standard of dancing this series, or that the costumes for Judge Rinder are always awful.

Well, Terry22, for you, and just for you, we will redefine the adjective "talented". "Able to stand up on two feet if propped up by tall blonde model" would just about conform to the trade Descriptions Act..

for us, the show was always about the dancers and the marks and comments dished out by the judges.

I think you will find when appearing at events on chat shows etc a person with a title is introduced by that title as it is protocol nothing to do with what the person does or doesn't want after that introduction it is generally first names

Judi Dench being introduced on Graham Norton as dame Judi Dench

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fns58FYwq2k

The same with Bruce Forsythe, for example the Michael Mcintyre show the voice announcer introduces him as Sir Bruce , the first time he spoke Michael correctly addressed him as Sir Bruce and thereafter as Bruce.

So it is a unfair to state he insists on being called Sir Bruce when he doesn't, the only person I am aware who insists on being called Sir at all times is ben Kingsley as has been mentioned already
