If Bruce is really finding it so hard not to be on television, could the producers not invite him to be in the audience for Strictly? He has earnt that and one of the girls could talk to him for a minute of so. Anything else would be ridiculous

Brucie plays the BBC like a cheap fiddle, he always has. And nobody at the Corporation has the balls to tell him 'No thanks'.

I think you will find when appearing at events on chat shows etc a person with a title is introduced by that title as it is protocol nothing to do with what the person does or doesn't want after that introduction it is generally first names
Judi Dench being introduced on Graham Norton as dame Judi Dench https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fns58FYwq2k The same with Bruce Forsythe, for example the Michael Mcintyre show the voice announcer introduces him as Sir Bruce , the first time he spoke Michael correctly addressed him as Sir Bruce and thereafter as Bruce. So it is a unfair to state he insists on being called Sir Bruce when he doesn't, the only person I am aware who insists on being called Sir at all times is ben Kingsley as has been mentioned already |

My local radio station was discussing whether or not Sr Phillip Green should lose his knighthood. They concluded that it didn't really matter because nowadays knighthoods are given away like sweets and are now meaningless.

Glad to hear he is recovering - but I don't really want to see him doing Strictly again - the show is SOOOOO much better without him.

I think, thank you Sir Bruce but, the show has moved on. Glad on the recovery. Enjoy your retirement.

More like the show must go on and Sir Bruce is the one to come back soon and inject some much needed talent and spontaneous humour, roll on Christmas special.
Never thought I'd see the words "spontaneous humour" in any post, even one of yours, when referring to Fforsyth. |

It would be good if Bruce could make an appearance for Len's final show, also it is always good for someone who has been ill to have a target like that to aim for. Studio lights dim and eerie music sounds. Craig appears dressed as the Grim Reaper and moves threateningly towards Sir Bruce. Darcey, dressed as Wonder Woman, appears and beats Craig up. Sir Bruce clutches his cuckoo clock and runs off into the arms of two men in white coats who lead him away. |

Sir Bruce could appear and hand Len a cuckoo clock (traditional farewell pressie for old codgers when they retire from a firm I believe). Then Sir Bruce goes over for some scripted banter with Tess and Claudia. Then there's a tap on his shoulder, and Len presents HIM with a cuckoo clock too!

You forgot to mention the over-sized cue cards that would be necessary for Fforsyth to say "Thank you". |

I can't see him coming back in any capacity other than as a member of the audience. He gave his all. That was enough.

Bruce Forsyth, the one you keep biting the bait over every time his name is even so much as hinted at.
Oh, that Bruce. Fforgotten Fforsyth, but it's good to try and maintain a dialogue with Terry |

Its actually Sir Bruce, he has been elevated to a higher plane in recognition of his unique talent and ability to entertain an add lib, modern alternative types are not able. |

I'm wondering if Terry is Sir Bruce. After all they've both been very quiet this series.

He knows it and made sure everyone else knew it and used it. Fair enough, he'd campaigned long enough to get it. Must have really riled him that it took eight years longer for him to get his than Mick Jagger. |
