Is Frankie correct about Bear's inherent selfishness?
And will the viewing audience, predictably make Bear their hero because of the eternal nomination thing?

They are ALL in there for 'themselves' ( selfish ) and out to get as much exposure as possible
What Frankie ( and more than a few of the others ) can't stand, is that Bear is better at it than they are |

You have to go easy on Bear. Wasnt easy for him losing his dad, Plank, in a shootout in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

What Frankie ( and more than a few of the others ) can't stand, is that Bear is better at it than they are Really it depends on if Bear knows that there's a chance that the viewers as a whole may consider him an agent provocateur--an entertaining stirrer--vs. just seeing him as a jerk. It is always hard to predict when the BB viewers will go one way instead of the other. |

Yes he is selfish! But not only that he is intimidating and violent to the rest of the house and that is obvious from what has been shown to the viewing public. I find him extremely offensive and obnoxious and not good TV!
Getting eternal nominations is a lot better then getting a free pass to the finals (Helen Wood). So anyone wanting to keep Bear in will need to spend up at each and every eviction to save him. For me he has done enough to warrant an ejection which I think is only a matter of time before the production crew are sick of his antics. Would love to see a house mutiny with HM's telling BB its either him or us. I think that is on the cards.

Mantras repeated (loud and long)by Bear:
I don't care I can do what I want That's just me, isn't it? They should have left him alone on that tropical island because it's quite clear he has no concept of anything other than his own immediate needs. What a big drink of water he is. |

Given they dont know what gets shown and the highlights are only about 42 minutes, he is probably behaving a good deal worse for longer than we see.

He's right, but I doubt that the viewers care as much about selfishness as the housemates do.

Every single one of them are completely selfish, ESPECIALLY FRANKIE. I've already watched him in BBUS, and seen plenty of his antics. He's pissed, because he can already see that Bear is a much bigger character than him.
I honestly think a lot of Bear's issues and attitude comes from a place of protection. He would rather strike out and make everyone hate him by doing and saying horrible stuff, rather than being himself and believing they will hate him anyway. This doesn't excuse any of his behavior or make it right, but he's got the classic abused dog syndrome. He's going to bite anyone who even attempts to get close, before they can "hurt" him. No idea what his story is, but it is making interesting TV. |

Yes Frankie is totally right.
The housemates have proved to be right in civilian big brother. Editing has all but been forgotten and the ones that the majority of housemates liked are in regular contact.Bitter ones not included yet. Frankie and Sam are not the sort to cause ripples but well used to the limelight.Ricky is another one but all of them seem to be getting fed up with Bears self centred and selfish behaviour. |

Loud rude with a temper is not what constitutes a big personality! |

Bear has no claim to fame at all nobody seems remotely to see him as a threat.Bear has no personality he's just rude and disrespectful.

Abused dogs everywhere are rising up in righteous anger at the comparison with this barren, witless lowlife.
I love this response. Maybe I should preface it by saying these poor dogs don't have a choice, and I'm sure Bear has a lot more opportunity to fix himself, and just hasn't.(I feel like I'm going to get pegged as a Bear fan, when in reality I really do think he's a bad human being, but I find him entertaining within the scope of this program. I also think that you can have a bad past, issues, and rise up from them, so me saying he has those circumstances, most likely, doesn't excuse his behavior in any way.) |

I'm not talking about fame outside of that house, I'm talking about dominating the show, and Frankie is wise enough to know that Bear is doing that. You've just described Bear's personality, so how can you say he doesn't have one. He is rude, disrespectful, and fully doesn't give a damn. That makes him unpredictable, and exciting TV for me. I'm sure I'll eventually get sick of watching him, and I am by no way a fan of him, nor do I think he's an awesome human being, but he's been good to watch.
He has dominated the show because he is loud, vulgar and obnoxious. Nothing that I find remotely good to watch or exciting at all. Just tedious and annoying. He is stopping the others having their 15 mins of fame as the producers think people want to watch Bears tantrums. Well, I for one, wish he'd **** off my tv.
