What are my options? Am I right in thinking that any phone running Marshmallow can do the Double Tap to Wake / Sleep thing so I am basically looking at phones that support wireless charging?

Currently got a Lumia 820 running W8.1 and do not want a W10 phone if and when the day comes my 820 bites the dust. Would another remaindered 820 be a better answer given I already have a Samsung S2 tablet to fill the app gap?

Most mid range and above phones should have double tap to wake but wireless charging is hit and miss. I'm struggling to recommend a top of the range phone with both features. Wireless charging seems to have taken a back seat for most manufactures, only samsung really pushing it at the moment.

Maybe it's because I spent very little on chargers, but I am not very impressed with the Qi charging of my current phone. The two have to be in very close proximity and it takes an age.

I'll keep using USB.

I couldn't be with wireless charging now and find it takes about the same time as a USB lead to charge. Have one stand bedside, one by my armchair in the lounge and a power pack / wireless charger pad for out and about and on the road (which I have a modded acrylic small plate stand to use it with in the car).

I have an S7 edge and the wireless charging is excellent. I haven't had any problems with it - apart from when I accidentally knock the phone and move it slightly. I have the Samsung fast charger, got it on a deal from Vodafone.
