Bear- a CBB version of Marc?
Whilst many on here don't like Bear, he has been very entertaining and a catalyst for most of the action that has taken place in the house. Without Bear in this series, things would be vey dull.
This reminds me of Marc from BB16, who was also very coarse, profane, confident, attention-seeking, quick-witted and manipulative. Marc was a necessary evil in BB16 because he single-handedly kept things lively and interesting, which was why the producers did their level best to keep him in for as long as possible. The difference is that Marc's haters were able to vote him out on Vote To Evict, without his fans really having a say. But now Bear will have his fans hopefully keeping him in on Vote To Save. It will be harder for Bear's haters to get rid of him. This series needs Bear and he's been the housemate who has defined this series. Marc was the same. These are colourful characters and provocators who make things interesting. They need to be kept in as long as possible. |

Bored of him now. Feels like watching repeats as he does the same thing over and over. There will always be some sort of drama so don't worry it will become dull when he goes.

I disliked Marc a lot, he was antagonistic and mean but there was some intelligence there at least. Boar is just nasty and stupid.

Unlike Marc, Bear has vote to save in his favour.
He'll be there 'til the end. |

He's absolutely nothing like Marc. Marc, for all his rudeness and divisiveness in the house, was witty, intelligent, and likeable. This Bear person is clearly none of those things. He talks as if every single word is carefully thought out and measured before it is uttered, which of course it is. A total fake, whose scripted naughty boy character is laughable to behold.

Marc was the complete opposite of Bear in more ways than one: intelligent, witty and he really didn't care unlike Bear who pretends he doesn't care but is actually incredibly needy.I've always had a soft spot for the maverick HMs like Perez and like Marc but they have to have some intelligence and some wit and not be just 100% selfish and self involved teenagers with zero else to offer. |

Marc was a wind up merchant, but he did it with humour. And if he was unpleasant to someone he'd tell them to be unpleasant back.

I couldn't stand Marc, but agree that he had other dimensions which made him interesting, at least. He had intelligence and a certain charm, totally lacking in Bear. Bear will never reach the annoyance heights of Perez, and he lacks him intelligence and vulnerability. In short, Bear is just a repellent ****, with no redeeming features.

I quite liked Marc. He was a windup merchant, but if he felt that he went too far he seemed to genuinely make amends if somebody got upset.
He had wit and humour too. Sometimes he made me laugh. Especially when he was being a sarcy git in the masters and servants task when he kept calling his enemies 'sir' or 'madam'. ![]() As the poster above says Marc did it with a degree of charm and wit. Humour was usually involved. But with Bear there is little wit or humour just aggression and mean spiritedness. |

I'm not liking the usually forward Sam Fox taking such a back seat either . She may as well not be there . Yet I suspect her tales and convos could be very interesting considering her past ----had we ever got a chance to hear them over the crashing and screaming and slurping of Baby Bear and his personal blow-up dolly . |

I was actually thinking about this earlier today. I think there are some similarities. It's not okay for Bear to attention seek and upset people, but yet it was somehow okay for Marc to do it. ![]() Marc was a highly obnoxious, massively attention seeking idiot. He would call women fat or ugly and he would deliberately antagonise the men by physically overpowering and simulating sex acts upon them and goad them in deliberate attempts designed to anger them, so that they'd lose their temper and shout at him and he would then grin inanely in their faces knowing that he'd got what he had wanted. He would also make very see-through attempts to get airtime by doing things like wearing tinfoil over his manhood. It was all for airtime. He wasn't trying to be funny. He was about as funny as the flu. Up until he came in, BB16 was my favourite C5 series and he, (along with Helen Wood), was responsible for ruining what could have been a great series that had a lot of potential. The series became so much better when he was evicted. Quote:

Danny didn't do the things that Marc did that I listed above.

As far as I remember, Marc never smashed anything up out of being misunderstood. They may be similar regarding their wish to instigate already volatile situations, but Marc didn't take things personally.

I found Marc likeable to a certain extent . Sadly Bear does not have any of these redeeming features only IMO.

Marc went into the house with a cocky attitude but at least he was entertaining and likeable in some ways, with a fun side too (who could forget the tin-foil gladiator look)! Sorry but I am yet to see a pleasant side to Bear.

Nothing like Marc. You could try to shoehorn any past housemates intro Bear going back to the first series, but you will find it hard to remember one as obnoxious and uncaring of other peoples feelings as Bear.

Marc made friendships with Helen, Sam, Joel, Eileen and Simon. In fact, he is still in touch with Joel. Bear i don't think actually wants friendships. And i don't think even the likes of him and Lewis will stay "friends" on the outside. |
