Yes, I was raised in London & have heard and used it myself. Also "keep your snout out". It is not a comment on the size on the person's nose, just that they are being nosey and/or interfering in things that have nothing to do with them.

When doesn't she take stuff the wrong way? She seems to take everything as a deep personal insult to her existence. If Heavy D did mean that she keeps meddling in other people's business, then it's a fair point, when she's not complaining she's interfering.

I don't think Saira's the worst housemate in there, for example I actually dislike Heavy D more than her, he's awful and annoying, but Saira must be a pain in the backside to live in that house with.

He was just using a common expression that means somebody is a nosey so and so. But as usual the Guru of the house takes it as a personal insult and gets precious about it

He added something along the lines of "you do have quite a hooter" that no one seems to have mentioned

It was clearly a common expression of which Saira was not familiar. It could also be that she is sensitive for some reason about her nose (it looks like a perfectly normal nose to me).

It is surprising when people in the media haven't come across familiar turns of speech. Someone was being interviewed on Radio 4 a couple of weeks ago about Pokemon Go and used the expression "nine day wonder". The interviewer (think it was Louise Minchin) pounced on it & said "that is a very specific amount of time". & the chap had to explain that it was just an expression for a short lived phenomenon.

I thought it was really funny.

I was not sure if she misunderstood what he said?

Saira understood perfectly well that Heavy meant she was an interfering busybody.

To avoid having to address that issue yet again, she deliberately zoned in on the word beak so she could make out that HD had insulted her physical appearance and play the victim

Yeah, after she'd turned it around and started ranting about how he was insulting her appearance, which I don't think he was. He tried to stop it turning into an intense meltdown with that comment but as usual Saira has zero sense of humour and just got even more upset.

Yes I was wondering why it hadn't been brought up yet. Whilst I think his main point was that Saira was interfering, the "hooter" comment could imply a dig on her appearance.

That being said, "I don't have a beak" was a funny line.

Yeah but she had already infered that it was because of her nose at that point so he was just responding in kind.

It's funny that she took it literally.
