I agree, and quite like him.

He has spoken up when he needs to, but he doesn't go looking for trouble. If I was in the house, I'd be avoiding the "squad" too.

I've no problem with him at all. He's not two-faced, because he doesn't fawn over the squad. If anything he ignores them, which is the best way of dealing with people of such intellect.

He's free to say what he likes about them to his friends in the house. Not sure why you'd lambast someone for being discreet and non confrontational.

Not everyone is an uncouth reality TV chav who disguises their aggression as 'telling it like it is'.”

Well said.

BIB I have to wonder at those who support such people too.

That house is so full of egomaniacs and gobshites, I'd give up watching if not for Ricky, Sam, James and Boom.
What a bunch of tossers, Ricky's a breath of fresh air in a cesspit.

I'm glad he don't have much to say because he irritates me strongly. Doesn't even matter if what he's saying is right or wrong, he just gets on my tits! I have no real reason to dislike Katie either but I just sort of do...

I do not like the man who sells tickets at my local station but I have to deal with him a few times a week. He knows I dont like him from my tone, but I would not say "oi mate your a complete knobhead". Many passengers have said the same, so someone please explain why they feel I should not discuss what a dick he is with other passengers, if I dont tell him to his face and making an already unpleasant situation worse and risking him deciding to take his tea break everytime I get to the front of the que.

I could go to another station to buy my ticket, but Ricky and others are stuck in that house with people they dont like and they are entitled to discuss it with others who feel the same as him. I am sure if he felt he could have a sensible conversation with the likes of bear he would say something but he knows what bear is like and has gone in to the house for reasons other than to be arguing and screaming and shouting.

Ricky, Sam, Frankie,James etc have not gone into the house to be having confrontations or are constantly doing things to get airtime, unlike some of the sad muppets in there that some people seem to think are hilarious because they like to goad and wind up others or have showmances because their personality alone would get them little or no airtime otherwise”

WOW - what an absolutely brilliant post! Wish there was a file somewhere where we could keep this response and roll it out whenever some silly Billy brings up the 'two faced / sly' thing about any housemate who doesn't lower themselves into slanging matches with complete morons.

'Snake in the grass', implies underhand dealings - pretending to be friends, then doing something that will have a negative outcome for someone. When has Ricky been like that? What poison has he spread? He does speak honestly. He was the person that challenged Boom about the way he spoke to Chloe. He openly nominated Bear. When Bear asked which HMs had had a problem with him, he admitted he had. So hardly two-faced.
' Pick your battles', that is what Ricky is doing. He is a grown up with no interest in bickering with the toddler about his behaviour on a daily basis. When the battle needs to be fought, Ricky won't back down.

Which is exactly what anyone with any sense do

It makes you diplomatic and mature.

Bear, Lewis and Marnie exist in their own reality tv bubble in which confrontation is probably expected of them but for someone like Ricky as an actor who's used to working in an ensemble cast like Eastenders he'll know the importance of tact and diplomacy or else he'd never work again.

It's like when people on here slag off housemates for bitching in the diary room rather than saying it to people's faces but again unless it led to a productive outcome why would you vent off to someone you don't like or care for just to receive antagonism back from them?”

Some of the attitudes on this thread are extraordinary. Do people really think that "normal" behaviour is constant confrontation??

Similarly, I work with someone who is a real nasty piece of work. I just avoid him as much as I can and I am polite when I have to deal with him. When he deliberately caused me issues I took him quietly aside and explained why it was unacceptable in a quiet and non confrontational manner

Well he certainly told Bear tonight to his face, good on him! I really like Ricky and I don't think he's two faced at all but just tried to stay out of the arguments until tonight!

Bear was laughing at him...and Ricky only started shouting his mouth of after he pressed the Diary room button...knowing full well that BB would open the door.

Not once did Ricky come away from that door and when it opened he could not wait to get in.

And the old rubbish he stated ' his hurting people I care about' you've only known them five minutes Ricky...you are pathetic.

Exactly this, it's not about winning the odd battle it's about winning the war! So glad that Ricky told Bear what he thought of him tonight! Go Ricky!!!!

I was glad that someone at least was giving it back to Bear but you can see his true persona coming out there. The amount of cursing was evident enough on it's own that he has got this nice guy persona he's trying to portray in there but the mask is slipping.

Yes it is...some of his cursing was some of the worse heard in there.
