Oh dear. I hadn't been watching CBB as I don't like Biggins. He's always seemed so fake to me, with that silly loud laugh. Insincere and sly, I reckoned. I couldn't watch him on I'm a Celebrity, he just makes me feel uncomfortable. So I wasn't.shocked to hear about all this. Just pleased that my gut instinct was correct. Horrible man. He is gay, mixes with bisexual and gay people, yet has reached the age of 67 not understanding about AIDS and HIV? I don't believe that for one moment. I AM gobsmacked at the way he said bisexuals caused the AIDs problem. It just shows what a narrow minded bigot he is. I can watch now he's gone. Yey!

Biggins should just own his opinion's about bi-sexuals if that is truely what he believes. And just apologise for the offensive remarks about bi-sexuals being responsible for spreading aid's and the jewish joke. Going to the concentration camp is just attention seeking and a way of gaining publicity, total BS.

Why not just ask to go on BOTS to give his side of the story and tell the public he didn't mean to be offensive, apologise, ask for forgiveness and grovel a lot.

I love this part:

"I'm really looking forward to it."

Saying that kind of defeats the spin effect of the rest of this. Because you know... you aren't exactly meant to ENJOY what you learn in such places.

Biggins has always given me the creeps. I will bet you money a whole load of dirt comes out about him now.

Biggins really is a cretinous moron!
Who the hell would say THIS & why the hell would anyone 'look forward'' to a visit like this. No-one with a modicum of sensitivity that's for sure!

Smacks of a desperate (& failed) attempt of damage limitation gone wrong.

This.

I don't agree with his ejection, he is entitled to air his opinion, and these opinions should be out in the open, rather than underground. So, going to a concentration camp because he wants to clear up his image is embarrassing.

In a way you could argue that it is embarrassing but in another way him going to see what happened and viewing in reality man's absolute inhumanity to man may make him cop on and realise the gravity of what happened.

Even if he'd not appeared on this year's CBB it would STILL be a terrible idea.

If it was "all arranged beforehand" then that implies that they are going to film it. In what way, one wonders, will the subsequent programme add to our knowledge of the Holocaust? In what way did whoever thought of this think it would add?
It's the modern way though, isn't it? They don't just show us things, we have to see a celeb reacting to them.

Yes, you could argue that, also. And if that is the case, then go for it. However is he really going because of that, or because he wants to clear up his image? You do not need to go to Auschwitz to understand the gravity of what happened. There is a wealth of information at his disposal, i.e books, or if he wants to be quick, the internet; and he could also go to the Imperial War Museum in his spare time. There is a holocaust exhibition there is very good, and it is not for the faint hearted, either. Maybe you think a grand gesture is needed and that is fine, also. I think an apology would be enough to those who found it offensive.

I was about to make the same comment about the Imperial War Museum, Biggins lives in Hackney which is about two miles away. A quiet private visit would be my advice to Christopher Biggins, not his style though is it?

Exactly! And even then, if he cannot understand the gravity of the holocaust without going to Aushwitz, then... He is well informed about everything else, it seems, but not the Holocaust. It is about his image and that is it.

Pilgrimage to the concentration camps?

What a weird article.

He made a stupid joke that no one is allowed to hear., for some reason another housemate may or may not have been offended for some reason we don't know.

Strangest thing in BB ever.

But he knows what happened, that was this joke may or may not have been about. He's not going learn anything. He should visit a comedy workshop, it wasn't his knowledge that failed but his comedy.

I did too, how ridiculous, you shouldn't have to visit a concentration camp to have empathy for the victims of Hitler's regime but equally so I feel some perspective needs gaining here.

I still waiting for the full and proper recognition of the FIVE MILLION non-Jews that were systematically killed. The original plans were to expel the Jews out of Germany, but kill most of the Slavs, keeping some for slave labour. It really does OFFEND me, when people go on about 6 million deaths, and not 11 million.

Anyone who had already planned to make a visit to a former concentration camp is unlikely to think it appropriate to try and joke about it to someone who quite possibly could have lost family members there and almostly certainly would take offence even if not. The man is a fool for the comments in the first place and a bigger fool thinking a publicity stunt lessens his idiocy.

Ridiculous.

Like the visit Jade Goody had to make to India and hand over a chunk of cash to some orphanage in order to appease the baying mob.

People should be able to say what they like and those who 'get offended' should either curl up and wither or simply deal with it.

I agree. Millions of Christians were killed by the Nazis too and they don't ever get a mention. Millions of Christians have been murdered by ISIS ,Boko Haram etc in the last few years and right now under our noses and there's very little about them.
I think this whole thing is ridiculous
