I was being sarcastic. If you thought I was being sincere you read too much in to it.

Krakow is a beautiful city and the people are nice. Auschwitz is very eerie and unsettling. Our tour guide told us that no matter where we stood it was likely that someone had died in that spot.

I don't know exactly what Biggins said, but I think he will learn something from this. It's almost impossible not to.

There is nothing funny about cancer, and if I've read too much into what you say then so be it. I just happen to think there are boundaries.

I wasn't being funny I was being sarcastic. Also, not sure why I should adhere to your personal boundaries. But anyway, I don't really want to argue about it. I can see why you thought it was offensive and I therefore apologise.

Yes fair point but given he seems to have no basic understanding I was simply pointing out that actually standing on the site of such atrocities may have given him a boot up the bum

Of course people shouldn't have to visit a camp to understand the horror -you're completely right.

I totally agree with this. All the other groups seem to be forgotten. I remember being shocked when we were taught about the Holocaust at school and being told it wasn't just Jewish people who were sent to concentration camps. While it was a long time ago since I started secondary school, not that much has changed. Any death and internment was bad every death is a tragedy regardless of which 'group' they belonged to.

Lord knows. Perhaps he believes having black friends somehow counters the accusations of bigotry?

Perhaps somebody else brought it up in a question to him? Black people are on the "standard" list that is used. They are in one of the 9 protected characteristics, And before anyone bleats about that, that it the official and LEGAL terminology.

You just lost my respect. Why apologise to some faceless set of words on a forum?

You did and said nothing wrong. Someone getting offended on someone else's behalf again...that's their problem not yours. Still, your apology might keep out the cold for them this winter...that's the only use it could possibly have.

What's the betting this "planned" trip will be a TV show for him

Thoughts on what it could be called? bit to early in the day for me to offer a show title but I'll be back when I think of one

Bib. I don't believe that's true at all. Let's not forget that the aim of the Nazis was to wipe out the entire Jewish population so the fact is it was specifically the Jews that were targeted and the gypsies too.

We were taught about mass murder of the handicapped aswell as anyone else like gay people too. However the fact remains that the ultimate aim was the total annihilation of the Jewish people.

No it wasn't. They simply didn't want them in Germany.

Or Poland or Austria or France or Czechoslavakia or the Channel Islands - one could go on.

What a truly pathetic man, now resorting to a distasteful publicity stunt. I've never fallen for the jolly, loveable persona and my instincts were right, he has certainly shown his true colours.

As long as they weren't on German controlled territory. The point is, that there was NO initial intention to kill them all, but there was with the forgotten 5 million Slavs.

How can you look forward to something like that. I can't get my head around it.
There can't be anything nice about the place or history to look forward too.

If we are now expected to know what the offending remark was, ie regarding showers, then why can't we shown the whole thing. I can't help but get the feeling that something else was said before, perhaps by Biggins himself, that prompted the associated remark. If somebody says the word "apple", they that would bring up all sorts of connected thoughts and ideas etc, There are all sorts of possibilities.

Yet again BB has made an announcement, and tried to withhold info, which has led to all sorts of speculation. It is only right and proper that BB makes full disclosure, so that the HM involved doesn't suffer from the false speculation that otherwise ensues,
