It was boring when Abraham was turfed out, she was even more fun on the outside with her row with Aisleyne on BOTS. I didn't like her as a person but she was entertaining.
I agree Farrah was brilliant and hugely missed when voted out.

Do you ALWAYS back the losing side?
It's not even about choosing sides.

I want to be entertained. And right now the only reason I find myself tuning in is to see what chaos #TEAMSQUAD have been responsible for in the past 24 hours.

As for backing losing sides, I'd say there's a very very good chance one of them will win the show with the reality TV voting audience backing them.

I fail to see how anyone like Bear, Lewis or Marnie can win this now.

There was a clear gear shift with Jason just winning the civilian BB series and there is no way that anyone is going to laud the conduct of the three chavs enough to vote them to victory.

It's for Ricky or Sam to lose at this stage.

Aah but the difference was Vote to Evict during civilian BB. It really does make a difference when it's Vote to Save for CBB because they go in there with ready-build fanbases rather than the civilians who don't (barring Lateysha - who, had it been VTS, would likely have won).

VTS changes everything - I don't think it's Ricky or Sam's to win sadly (not that either of them should win but anybody other than the 4, then 3, now 4 including Saira 'squad' members). I think Frankie would stand a great chance if it weren't VTS.

Yes it's a tradition. Like the John Lewis Christmas advert.

I hate that people use this argument still after nearly 40 series of Big Brother in total. Being talked about or being visible does not make you entertaining or a good housemate and it doesn't mean getting rid of these people will make the show boring. Lewis and Bear and awful and Bear in particular is a repetitive noise of a character that has already become stable. The beauty of Big Brother is that when someone is evicted other people come to the forefront to provide on the show. We saw it on BB17, which was dominated by Marco at first and then Georgina / Jackson. Yet the show still went on once they left.

Sometimes characters eating up the airtime need to go for the show to move on and become better (which is why vote to evict is sometimes neccessary). This is something that need to happen now and to pretend the show will instantly collapse when they go when I'm not enjoying what they're providing and making out that anyone who wants them out clearly doesn't like entertainment is ridiculous.

Even with VTS I fail to appreciate how Lewis, Bear and Marnie can have a huge fanbase over the general audience whom may wish to support the more likeable and virtuous housemates.

People may be familiar with them from the Reality programmes but what is there in someone like Marnie to actually be a fan of. She has no talent or anything interesting to say...must be a generational thing!

I like Frankie. He's going to be a finalist anyway but if he can bring that group down too he wont be leaving first that night.

Believe me I agree with you, I don't understand how anybody could be a fan of any of that group, but young people follow these people strangely enough, which is where they get funny ideas like being orange is a good thing for example They strangely, and very sadly, see them as something to aspire to which is why you see the likes of Ryan and Lateysha from the civilian show chasing this idea of success with all their might instead of cultivating a real talent.

It's extremely depressing!

Yawn.

Every series a thread exactly like this is made. "If X goes it'll be boring, if Y goes we'll be left with no on interesting, if Z goes I won't watch anymore" blah blah blah.

Happens every series, then XYZ are evicted and someone else steps in to become the "entertaining" one. And you carry on watching because you like the show enough to be posting on a forum about it

Stupid thread.

If they are evicted, we'll be left with a bunch of old people drinking tea and coffee and dreaming about the years when they were still relevant.

That's a bit harsh

Indeed. The format of the show is bigger than this current pack of chavs.

If the show would be boring without Bear\Lewis\Marnie I take it the OP wouldn't watch any subsequent CBB as they wont be in that show either!

I am not missing anything with these two idiots. They are both nauseating to watch and the sooner they are gone the rest can shine.

The show would be 1000% better if Bear was thrown out, preferable frogmarched out the front door by that burly security guard!! The ratings would go up as viewers tune in to see him get his comeuppance.

This old chestnut. This is the same sad, tired old argument people have been making about this show since 2000. For sixteen years all we've heard is "but they entertaining!"

What rubbish. I could argue that it's just as entertaining, if that's the main criterion, to watch horrible people get their comeuppance. Indeed, that's been the general trend of the show for nearly two decades.

What people find entertaining is different. Personally, I'd like to get my kicks by seeing abhorrent morons get what they deserve and then find fun in watching nice people blossom and get to know each other and have a great time. That's entertaining to me. That formula has worked pretty much constantly since BB1.

As it stands, I have no idea how entertaining the likes of Katie, Ricky or even Sam could be because the vapid morons Bear and Lewis are sucking up all the airtime. I'm done with them. They've nothing more to offer than what we've already seen, and have therefore ceased to be 'entertaining'. The only way they can amuse us now is by being horribly and suddenly ejected from the house.

They are creating all the moments we are talking about.
Erm... aside from snogging Marnie, Lewis has done precisely NOTHING until his argument with Heavy D.

I accept that not everyone will find them interesting or entertaining. But this forum is proof that the majority do find them compelling characters because they are the housemates everyone is posting about on here - whether negatively or positively. They are the focal point of most of the discussion.

He's not actually a bad person at all. His chats with Saira are evidence of that.

Lewis has been leading #TEAMSQUAD, he played a major role in the hilarious pranking and has been involved in some crazy arguments. Not all of them have been shown in the highlights package, but he's usually playing a central role in the live from the house action every night with Bear and Marnie.

Lewis is boring to the core. He doesn't add anything to the show except his boring showmance. He lets Bear act the idiot then laughs about it as if it is the most hilarious thing ever.

His delight in Heavy D having no friends to support him was awful. Nasty guy who is pretending to be the hero.

No they aren't the show. They have just been given too much airtime to their brainless antics and fake showmances. If they were not there or given so much airtime other people would be able to show their characters and shine. These people thrive on attention and will do anything, no matter how gross to keep the cameras on them.

Yawn - for most of us they are not entertaining. When they have gone BB lets us see the true personalities of the other HMs. It's still a mystery why they give them the airtime they crave.

Because, as was pointed out above, that's all there IS to discuss. We can't talk about housemates we've not been shown.

I always hate it when one obnoxious, nasty, ridiculous screeching housemate gets put on a pedestal and overhyped as being the whole show, and gain fanbases who blindly excuse everything they do.

It's happened with a lot of series, Marc, Perez, Farrah. I was glad to see all of them go, and it speaks volumes that despite all their hype, none of them even made the final. Marc technically went as soon as people had the chance to evict him. Vote to save might have helped Perez and Farrah last longer, but when they were evicted they still went against all the other housemates. That to me shows how overrated those sort of housemates are, even in a vote to save they aren't all that popular despite all the screentime and hype. Clearly a lot of people didn't think they were the whole show.

Bear is the closest to that type of housemate this series, although he isn't quite as overhyped yet. As for Lewis, would he be any great loss really? There's the showmance with Marnie, and the series will always make sure we have a showmance shoved down our throats, but what else is he bringing really? If he goes in a vote to save, then what he's bringing obviously isn't appealing to enough viewers.

Virtually every thread started during and after the show tonight is about them. Whether you love them (me) or loathe them, they are the show.
I would rather say they are DOMINATING the show, certainly not making it. I detest all three of the z list clique and would be happy to see any of them / all of them gone so we can then see more of the more interesting characters.
