I think she meant it in the mentoring/career development sense. In the corporate world, regular performance and development reviews are standard and would take into account team working, diversity and so on as well as actual job performance. It's just part of her work vocabulary and she is "at work".

Saira and Bear deserve each other.

She still 'loves' him, though ........This lady is playing a game !!

I wonder if Martin Lewis will be looking for another partner ?? She has a brain - why is she appearing in this sort of show ???

Sorry, Saira - you are not endearing enough to win........

But that would suggest she sees herself as superior.

I wonder if she has asked anyone to "develop" her?

Sorry, yes I got that. My irritation was more about her than your comment.

I think she meant it in the way an agent might develop 'talent' (I use that term loosely in Bear's case), she was trying to control his behaviour for her own benefit by suggesting to him it would be better for his 'career' to show a different side.

Saira's ignorant arrogance knows no bounds. Why on earth would anyone look to Saira for development. To start with she has no insight into her own, numerous short-comings. I can't forget how she berated Chloe whilst Chloe was in the bath. How dare she! Saira acted as if she was a relative of Chloe's. I'm sure she believes she has a right and it's her 'cultural' duty to keep Chloe in line. How bloody dare she.

She has? Doesn't feel like that long ago we were introduced to her on The Apprentice, where she made out her career aspirations were to be an skilled business women and get a job with suralan.

Or was she just there like so many, without any interest in the show at all other than to get her face on TV?

I have to admit it gets my goat something chronic every time a supposedly serious business wannabe from the apprentice instead goes onto a TV career. It questions their integrity and motives for being on the show in the first place. Not the characteristics of anyone worthy of my respect.”

It appears her 'career motivations' are to host her own chat show. I wonder how well she'd do at it.

Not well I would wager. It requires a different skill set. I would think to get the best from an interviewee you need the ability to build rapport to get them to engage with you, empathy so you can read their mood and know when there is something to probe for and how far to take it and the ability to listen; including listening with a third ear. Saira has none of these skills that I have seen.

Having said that I don't think she is without skills and I don't see her as a bad person. She has drive and determination. I think she is caring but goes about it in a bullish maybe even boorish manner. She is pushy and insenstive but that doesn't mean she couldn't inspire or mentor others. The snag here is that, as far as we know, none of those she is trying to mentor have volunteered to be mentored. So without their consent it looks controlling,

I understand what you're saying regarding mentoring - hosting a chat show isn't mentoring. If she is the caring person she states, then maybe she could be a mentor behind the scenes, but she choses to be a chat show host, therefore she wants the acclaim. And money, By the way, what happened to her Derbyshire accent?

And why the hell did she go on The Apprentice? Was Alan Sugar willing to back a chat show?

PMSL.

She would be better off coaching sales people or sports people. That bullish, never say die, JFDI approach seems to work Ok in those environments

Yes, definitely. I really hope she doesn't get her show. If she does, I hope I witness it die an humiliating death on live tv.

She won't. Chat shows are flag ship shows to most channels and presenters are picked pretty carefully. Even those with the right credentials can fail spectacularly - remember "Davina"?
