Hi I decided to jailbreak my Ipad air 2 using the untethered pangu menthod and now see that Sky Q doesn't work on jailbroken devices.

I want to now revert to unjailbroken status. Can I do this without using a computer?

When I check for the latest IOS update via settings the ipad doesn't find it?

Secondly do I need to go back to a status where the Ipad is cleaned of all data or can I revert to a status before the jailbreak so all data remains?

Use iTunes

Open iTunes
Connect your iPhone
Select the device from the left sidebar
Click on Restore
Disable backup (Cancel, when prompted for the backing up option)
This restore option connects to Apple Servers and installs the latest iOS firmware. Quite naturally, you’ll lose all data but you have the option of taking backups on iCloud so that when you set up your phone, you can restore data from the backup on iCloud.

Tip: If you don’t want to face iTunes Errors during the process (they’re quite common), you can choose to download the IPSW file directly to your local disk. Afterwards, instead of clicking Restore, just click Shift+Restore and choose the IPSW file you downloaded. This will install the IPSW on your iPhone.

Does icloud store multiple backups? I can choose a backup file before the jailbreak?

It does (five I believe but I could be wrong on that), but the thing to remember is that an iCloud backup only contains your user data and details of what Apps you have installed. It doesn't actually 'back-up' or image the device in a way that contains the OS.

So you should be able to do a restore of the device (as detailed above) which will put the OS back and then just restore your latest iCloud backup which will put your user data back and start the re-download of your apps from the store.

Sometimes what is needed is a DFU restore (you'll need to Google the exact keys to hold down on the iPad) which does a complete wipe and factory reset of the device. Then it can do a clean reinstall of the OS.

Unfortunately you will need a computer of some sort running iTunes to do either of these procedures.
