Essentially a cover so some people will dismiss it but I prefer this to the movie version. I'd heard it years ago and tried to find it. I eventually heard the movie soundtrack and although it was similar it wasn't quite as I remembered it. Anyway the mystery has been solved!

It was actually a No 2 hit in the US but seems forgotten. Am I the only one who thinks it's a great song?

I remember that being in the hit parade !

But I guess that Morricone had so much great output that it's hard to peel off one tune and prefer someone's cover

Went to see the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain a few years ago and they did this version of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. It was fantastic !

Didn't know that! I never remember hearing it on the radio.

For some reason the original version wasn't released when the film came out which is why the cover version succeeded.
