Shortly due to compete on the pommel on BBC1.

With Matt Baker commentating. It's all so incestuous...

OH NO!!! So nervous for him, and then he came off the horse! Gutted.

British mens team finish 4th overall.

I know- such a shame- but by all accounts he'd upped the difficulty of the routine and was really going for broke with it. Can't ask anyone for more.

Shame for Louis and the team but terrible coverage and commentary. Really hard to follow what was going on and they didn't even bother showing the other GB pommel routines.

At least Tom Daley got bronze in the paired diving- now he's a future Strictly contestant if I ever I saw one. Although probably 2020+

Gymnastics coverage is always like that- because all the gymnasts are performing in all the disciplines simultaneously, and because there's a few minutes to wait for scores, it's always hard to track with any sense of flow. It's not the coverage's fault- just the way of gymnastics. We were spoilt in 2012 because the camera work favoured TeamGB.

At least he gets another shot at the individual medal later on.

I was refreshing the app every 30 seconds to try and keep up with the ever changing scores.

Max stormed the pommell but we didn't see any of it.

They showed it when Clare Balding was talking to Beth Tweddle straight afterwards.

I think they jinxed him when they said "the master" that's the thing I dislike about GB they really do have a way of hyping up their athletes. Not taking anything away from them by the way sometimes I just don't like their attitudes but it's my my opinion 😃

Yeah- it's a fine line between being positive and then falling into hubris. The media are at their worst when it comes to the England football team -and to a lesser degree the rugby and cricket- but I didn't detect it with the gymnastics.

BIB I totally agree with you ; They do it EVERY SINGLE TIME. In football, it's worse...the way they hype these players you would think that they are the cristiano , messi, bale or neymar of football. And most of the times they get their a***sses handed to them; they never learn.
In tennis, they do the same thing with Murray.
Yes be proud of your players but to be so arrogant about it and extrapolate their achievements , especially compared to others who are 3, 5, 10, 20 times better than them is just ....No. It is so off-putting.

Anyways, shame about Louis. I felt bad for him and now he is trending on twitter worldwide and most of the tweets are not complementary of him . He did so much for his country; I dont think some people realize the work /sacrifices that goes into these less than 90s or 2 min performances. Its a shame that the fall happened but sh*****t happens .....it's not the end of the world. I am pretty sure that no one is feeling worse than him at the moment; so all the online hate he is getting at the moment is certainly not helping. Poor guy .

Oops. Maybe if they have gotten an all round gymnast instead there would have been no call for a miracle from somebody who was only in one rotation.

True. It must be worse, since it's a team event. I recorded it and will watch it tonight,

Arrogant prat. He caused an unnecessary fuss last time, when he missed out on gold. Not the nicest SCD winner.
