Those mealy-mouthed 'warnngs' at the start of each segment are really irritating me. Isn't it hypocritical to continually broadcast (and encourage) content which is 'extremely offensive' to viewers? Content which may 'distress' viewers? When it's apparently OK to throw housemates out whose views may 'distress' or 'offend' viewers? Hypocrisy!

Not really, its their way of backing themselves up againts all those complaints they get from those "points of view" letter writers and first time viewers. I can imagine over the years Ofcom has been on their back a lot.

I thought the warnings were for the over sensitive types who can't wait to complain about something.

Yup, they are indeed covering their backs - and at the same time being salacious about the content in order to get people to watch. It's OK for BB to potentially 'distress' and 'offend' viewers - by broadcasting nudity/sex/offensive language - but not for housemates to voice opinions which may be offensive. I'm not saying the latter is right - but I hate the hypocrisy of it.

Never mind free speech. I could just do with some intelligent conversation.
