So Dean's trial is next week and will be a big part of most of the week's storylines. Does anyone know whether Matt Di Angelo has filmed for the episodes and it is being kept a surprise to fans (seeing as he isn't credited in cast lists). After all, it makes no sense for them to show the trial (because judges and the Head of Court are credited) without him present.

I wonder if this ties in with Linda's exit (for maternity) maybe he will be found innocent and she goes to stay with her Mum?

While that would make sense to some degree, Linda had been at the Vic for over a year without any hope of getting justice for Dean. While obviously the news would hurt her, I doubt that she'd stay with her mum (especially for the length of time) as a result of this. Or at least I would doubt that she would normally, unless they're looking to write her out quickly.

I hope they don't change the outcome like this just because Kellie is pregnant. I think Elaine will just break her leg and so Linda helps out.

As for Matt Di Angelo, I think he will make a surprise return for one episode to find his verdict with the rest of the trial scenes being offscreen

Linda will be on screen until around January before she goes on maternity I think (due in November)

I wonder if Matt filmed a scene in the dock before he left and we will just see that, which is why we see the judge etc. I have read on the Metro that

I bet we'll see a scene with Dean after the trial outcome is known - either in his cell or going away somewhere.

I hope that he is in the show for the whole week on the condition that he is back to his gorgeous self.....( i.e. no beard, and normal hair....)

I really don't want to see any more of his "acting".

I second this. The beard was awful!

He is great. The whole rapist story he was fantastic. Playing a rapist has got to be one of the most challenging.

I don't see you pulling off any acting

This is purely my opinion but I think he may well have grown the beard and had the hair cut he did to distance himself from the character. He looks completely different in the Ordinary Lies promo stuff (back to how he looked when he first returned to EastEnders).

He's been filming for a new TV series made in Wales in recent months BUT, it makes no logic for Matt to not appear AT ALL during a week dedicated to his characters trial. He could have filmed for a day or 2 secretly or even did some filming before he left at the beginning of the year.
It was kinda odd he didn't have an official send off when he left Eastenders.

Also, simply the logistics of havinga week of courtroom drama leading up to a verdict: "Guilty or not guilty" without the accused standing in the dock-how's that gonna work??

He will be found guilty.

Otherwise it undermines the message sent out at the beginning of the year:report it!

If he gets off Scot free, then it'll seem like there's no point in pressing charges-it won't do a good.

That's a terrible message to send out to rape victims

Thankfully it's gone.

It's a very contemporary hipster look so I think it was appropriate esp for a character who's Got a cool job like hairdresser.
It also made Matt look less good looking, which was interesting.

He was back and forth between Wales and his home though (going by his twitter). With EE and Ordinary Lies both being BBC productions, I'm sure they may have managed some arrangement? It sounds like Matt has a big role and he was filming right up until the end

I think he'll be found guilty too, but let's remember that it will be for attempted rape, not rape. Not sure how long he'd get.

Is Ronnie going to visit him : )
Yes - I hope we see this as it would be very interesting!

For all the denial that Matt DA will return to Eastenders next week, I spied the soap mags & TV mags earlier & his face is on the front of a few. Surely thats a hint that hes actually going to make an appearance?
is it likely that a character would appear on a front cover of a soap mag, then actually NOT appear in the programme concerned??
