ED The inevitable end for the Whites?
I've only been watching Emmerdale for a few weeks( I was drawn in by the Lawrence shooting) and the Whites have quickly become some of my favourite soap characters, but surely they can't come back from this? I've heard Kelvin Fletcher 's wife is pregnant and I suspect he will return in the new year and the Whites will be written out after a feud with Robert. Is there any scope for any of them to remain in the village, as theyre very isolated from the other villagers, or do you think they'll all be axed with a new family in Home farm?

I know we've all been bleating on about this for ages and many are reluctant for it to happen but I just find it incredibly lame that the second daughter, Rebecca hasn't once been to visit her family despite all their troubles in the last few years. Her father almost died after being shot and her sisters boyfriend is up on a murder charge, surely now is as good a time as any to bring her in? Preferably with a partner. Home Farm is a big old family home, it needs filling up a bit IMO and Rebecca and her boyfriend (or girlfriend) could add a new dynamic and freshen the Whites up a bit

I do think it's time for Rebecca (preferably with family) to arrive to boost the numbers a bit. It does look a bit thin on the ground again up there. They need extra family members and to have the working office again with a couple of employees as that then provides some of the link to the village. When you had Nicola working up there and Kate running the stables and Betty cleaning (going back a bit further now) there was interaction, but they are again now very much isolated which is when it doesn't work so well. |

I don't think the Whites are going anywhere, if they were the producer wouldn't have bothered turning Chrissie into a bitch, he obviously has long term plans for them.

Agree with a lot of this but the fact she didn't show at any point up so far means it will be very hard to take her seriously as a member of the family, she's clearly not close to any of them.

I don't see them going anywhere either but sometime they do overhaul a characters personality to facilitate an exit

They do but from that Interview it sounded like Iain MacLeod had big plans for Chrissie, it almost seems like he wants to turn her into Kim Tate or Sadie King.

I think so to, although I found Sadie King dull to be honest.

How can the storyline resolve itself without one of them leaving though? I can't see Andy 's exit being permanent despite what the rumours suggest and even if it is, from what I've seen of his acting abilities, he will need a return in a couple of years anyway. The one possibility I see is that Lucky will go down
and it will push Chrissie even further over the edge.

All 3 characters are interesting and much more tolerable than the Dingles (Cain and Charity aside) and the dreadful Moira and james.

The actor who plays Andy isn't as thick as the character. He has a pretty hefty property portfolio as well as a few fingers in various pies to give him a fairly decent income even without acting. That said, he does have some expensive hobbies.

I really hope it's not the end for them and most importantly I really don't want Robert getting one over on them, which inevitably will happen. I like Chrissie, Lawrence and Lachlan and think they're all very convincing as a family, and it would be a completely pointless move if they were to all leave not long after their introductions; we had the same happen with the Wylde's and some of the Macey's. I think that Rebecca definitely needs to be introduced, have her just as ruthless and conniving as Chrissie is becoming and they'd be not to be messed with!

Yeah having Robert get them arrested and emerging as the hero would be sickening. However I think it's likely to happen and be the final stage of his "redemption".

Why would it be sickening? The whites and Andy are as bad as he is so there isn't anyone to root for from a moral or likeable perspective

I didn't really say that right. I mean it will be sickening if they make it very black and white like I think they will. I can see them making Chrissie really pantomime to get everyone on Roberts side evn though he's basically the main reason why she's become so twisted in the first place. As you said, they're all just as bad as each other and this feud will be great if the writers don't turn Robert into some knight in shining armour.

I agree with a lot of what you say but I don't think she can blame Robert for her bitterness anymore, she's been claiming to be over him and what he did for the past few months and happy with Andy. This is his doing this time or she was lying about being over what Robert did

Families in home farm don't usually stay that long. By the time kelvin returns probably in around 12 month they'll be leaving.

Robert left some very permanent scars, but yes Andy definitely pushed her over the edge. Lucky's dramas are bound to have left some mental scarring too.
