Ofcom receive 90 complaints about Biggins' removal - and none about his behaviour
http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/celebri...king-comments/
Meanwhile Grant Bovey reveals the HMs were absolutely baffled and perplexed by his removal and thought it must have been a joke initially : https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...-off-the-show/ Perhaps the most farcical aspect of all is that BB never showed any of Biggins' supposedly 'offensive' comments, bar two conversations about bisexuals. |

I've always figured they have to be told in advance by C5 whenever they are scheduling a series of BB/CBB so that Ofcom can take on more staff

I was watching 'Only connect' last night, and at the end Victoria Coren-Mitchell was making light of the fact that people don't really listen to the presenter right at the end of the programme. She took the opportunity to say some silly things, one of which was 'Praise Hitler'.
I am wondering how this is permissible whilst Biggins' joke, which I agree was not in good taste, is not. |

I read in one of the newspapers that Biggins was removed after discussions with lawyers and Endemol, I suspect BB did all they could to keep him in there what with him being their top billing and a friend of the show. That's why there was a delay between the 'joke' and Biggins' removal.

Am I naive in hoping that OFCOM could make C5 publish the real transcript?

For me Bear should of been thrown out for aggressive and intimidating behavior. Biggins shouldn't of been thrown out for his views and the joke was never shown. I couldn't care less about a 67 year old's views and there is much worse happening in the house right now. Bear is extremely aggressive and being a prick which is far more offensive to me! And if you want to be PC just think about domestic violence is a huge problem worldwide. So why is it OK for Bear to say he couldn't care less about anyone, wants to take revenge and broke a window and be an absolute arsehole to everyone in the house.

I bet sponsors and advertisers care though - remember the Shilpa/Jade thing? TalkTalk were very quick to remove their sponsorship of BB back then, that really hurt them.

They do care and I don't envy the producers, if he is kept in by vote to save I wouldn't mind betting we see a vote to evict before the end!

The bisexual aids comment was shown on the night he was removed and they didn't show the Jewish comment?
There was no space for Ofcom to receive complaints. I mean if you're the kind of person who feels his comments warrant a complaint to Ofcom you're not going to complain after he's already been removed. That would be pointless. |

You can't contact Ofcom to complain that someone has been removed from a TV show when you think they shouldn't have been. Are these people for real?

You can't sensibly complain about something that wasn't shown.
Which is probably grounds for a complaint itself I suppose. Can't someone leak the relevant footage to youtube. |

And this is why i was saying that this was most likely done to protect themselves from any sponsers and maybe people within the production company. Also maybe they could see Biggins was going to say worse things as the time moved on and could not risk housemtes leaving and telling the press what was said.
I don't think shows like this opperate without very good solicitors who also thinks about "potential" trouble. |
