Ofcom receive 90 complaints about Biggins' removal - and none about his behaviour

Ofcom will only investigate something which has been broadcast when they have received a complaint to check whether it has broken broadcasting rules and caused offence. They don't meddle in a reality show's decision to remove contestants, fairly or unfairly, from the show. That has got nothing to do with Ofcom. I bet they're getting sick of people complaining to them at the drop of a hat over shows like Big Brother, The X-Factor etc. It's like people phoning 999 to report not being able to get through to their local takeaway.

You can imagine OFCOM taking extra staff on when BB and CBB airs, because of the idiots reporting things.

I feel sorry for OFCOM when BB/CBB airs. It doesn't help that every BB/CBB show is opened by a voice over of Marcus telling viewers about explicit sexual content, frontal nudity, aggressive behaviour and confrontations and offensive language 'that some viewers may find upsetting'.

I thought Biggins bisexual comments were ill advised but didn't find them particularly offensive. Heard them all before back in the 80s and 90s. His Jewish comments weren't aired. Personally I find the behaviour of the reality show foursome and Aubrey spitting into food and drink more offensive but I wouldn't bother complaining to OFCOM - I just switch off or change channels.

Apparently Ofcom have already received a lot of complaints about last night's shower sex scene. I did think they were sailing close to the wind and wondered if they should have shown any of it on the HL show : it was all a bit seedy and grubby.

The trouble with BB is they let them get away with all sorts but not allow people to have an opinion of their own. It must be a PC one or you get chucked out. How dare they tell people what opinion they are allowed to have? They are hardly a moral compass in standards of behaviour.

They're producing one of the trashiest, grubbiest and most low rent versions of CBB ever. It's almost hilarious that the same people have set themselves as moral guardians of the nation and the ultimate arbiters of what the viewers will or won't find offensive.
