So far we know very little about Sean O'Connor and his vision for EastEnders.

He does not use social media and we may not get an Interview from him for a while.

What do you think his vision for EastEnders is and can he fulfill it?

All he's got to do is have less of an ego and he'll be one up on his incompetent predecessor.

I think at the moment, we're going through the transition with DTC to SOC. I don't want a Birkwood / Newman / Hutchinson disaster.

He's got to stop pandering to the fanboys that populate social media. If he does that, and removes all the fanfic crap, he'll be fine.

People are entitled to write fanfics if they wish but unlike DTC he seems to stay away from social media.

I thought DTC was the saviour of Eastenders after its prolonged rancification under Kirkwood and the secretary woman? Guess he was just as much an albatross to the production as the other two.

I PM'd Daniel with a few things.

He's got a tough job on his hands clearing out the mess DTC created. Its been in a mess for 6 years now and it hasn't improved since so it could be to late.

Any idea how long Brookside had been in a mess/decline before it was eventually axed because if iEE at six years is around the same timeframe then you are probably right, six years yet no one at the BBC has shown any desire to end decline.

I have no problem with fanfic, just as long as it isn't in the actual show.

A more realistic attitude to money and how this affects day to day life in the real world.

He needs to bring the show back to earth and make it real again.

DTC made EE into a ridiculous, over-the-top parody.

Like you say, Vas, we know little about his plans so there's virtually no way of knowing what is vision is
