I stopped watching civilian BB when Lateysha was ruling the roost and resumed when she came a cropper so maybe you will get a similar reprieve.
lateysha was simply bitchy and nasty whereas Bear is just loud and obnoxious but i dont feel theres anything malevolent about him. Bear is like the kid at school who pinched the girls to make them cry - its character building.

If it's another mug off, the show will hemmorhage viewers. Read this forum, people are switching off in droves.
I'm pretty sure you're right about Bear being safe. I'd be happy to see any of the cretinous 4 shoved out.”

They are not switching off in droves.

People make assumptions without actually looking at the ratings.

This is a transcript of what Emma said
"Over the next three days housemates will be thrust into a high risk game of chance in which HMs will be given the choice to play for group gain or personal reward. Every decision they make will come with a cost and on Friday one HM will be left paying a hefty price."

Worth watching, IMO. If it's bullshit, C5 should be prepared for a drop in ratings.

And those watching this crap are welcome to it. They will be losing the die hard BB viewers and when the next show starts may not even bother watching!

I doubt it, Bear is keeping people tuned in. People either love him or love to hate him, either way most cant help but watch.

Where are the figures?

I think anyone who's really honest with themselves will admit that sometimes they want VTE and sometimes VTS.

I've said for years that we should have both: 2 phone numbers for each nominee - one to save them and one to evict them - deduct evicts from saves for each and lowest number goes.

BB Australia did this and it worked because the vote would end up overwhelming evict or save. There were a lot who got the same and cancelling each other out ended on zero votes. If they did this for this series Bear would get a lot of saves but evict would be overwhelming and he would be gone!

not for me, part of the reason that CBB is so successful for C5 IMO is the positive voting system, when i look back at some of the previous series, they would have been absolutely awful with VTE!
i just think we have got ourselves an unpleasant series. changing the voting format wont make any difference to that!
people will moan either way depending on whos up for eviction!
if i had my way channel 4 would have changed the voting to 'save' when they extended the civilian series to 13 weeks way back on BB7

The voting system should be flexible why have only VTE for normal BB and VTS for celebrity BB. Why not use common sense and VTE when they are few and VTS when they are a lot of HM's up. Your reference to BB7 brings back the awful all HM's up except Jayne twist. That should of been a VTS but a couple weeks later when Pete was tided to Richard it was a VTS.

Edit: I hate auto complete

I have always said it should be VOTE TO EVICT and vote to save should never have been started

EG if 4 are up and you want one of them out , you would have to keep voting for the other 3 and hope its enough to get out the one you want which is why a lot dont vote when its VTS , i only vote when its VTE i want my votes to count and get the one i dont like out

The only winners with VTS are BB they get more money.

There's a ratings thread on here.

But if people wanted to know, outside of launch it has stayed very consistent. Launchwas a 2.4m, then the standard drop post launch happened, and these are the figures since:

1st HL show- 1.58m
Saturday- 1.35m
Sunday- 1.5m
Monday- 1.8m
Tuesday- 1.6m
Weds- 1.5m
Thurs- 1.8m
**Olympics Start**
Friday- 1.7m
Sat- 1.2m
Sunday- 1.6m
Monday- 1.5m
Tuesday (last night)- 1.7m

Also must be noted that from Friday onwards, it's clashed with the Olympics, which hasn't really damaged CBB at all.

People keep saying this, after BB15, people vowed to never watch BB again, and then CBB15 came along, and then CBB17 and then even BB17 which was higher than 12, 15 and BB16.

People keep saying "these people won't bother", but they do. Both CBB and BB are up year on year.

Even if people "switch off in droves" for this series, they will be back for the January series.

Just people being melodramatic, as per Digital Spy member usual.

Yep reminds me of when Helen won and people were 'never watching again'.

People are taking the show way too seriously, Ive actually seen people compare Bear to Hitler. Its a bit of a joke now

Exactly.

if someone wins that someone doesn't like... FIX FIX. So childish, screaming fxi when something doesn't go their way.

And if someone does win like Bear, people will say FIX for about a week, forget about it, and then switch "on in their droves" for the January series. As always.

I know

People need to calm down or switch off. I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I'm still watching it and I'm not posting a million threads stating why I'm not.

BB17 started off exactly how this has. "I'm switching off" "this is awful", "terrible lineup"< "terrible people", then people loved it... then when Annihilation week was announced "OMG, this is terrible, this is awful", "going to switch off"... when Lateysha was evicted "OMG this is the best thing that has ever happened, "what a great series", etc....

When will people spot their own hypocrisy?

Consolidated (including on-demand downloads) each one jumps up by another million (data via the BARB website). So they tend to get around two and a half million views per episode. It tops the channel 5 charts every week, with few other shows on the channel getting close to it.

Quite why everyone always seems to think its dying on its arse and about to get canned is beyond me. Even when they slice the budget of the sodding thing it still does just as well and therefore makes them an even bigger profit.

It's fine. It's here forever. It owns us. We are but ants to it.

Well I have given up and there is nothing melodramatic about it. Your welcome to this shit and it is not BB!

If this forum isn't representative of the viewing public, and all the audience wants is the Bear show, that's fine. The DS BB forum is the only one I belong to, and it's the only one that reflects my views. If Friday's show doesn't mark a shift away from the lowest common denominator, I'll join the others who aren't "as ants" to the Twitterati and switch off. The people who want to spend the next two weeks watching the Bear show are welcome to it. No melodrama, just personal choice.

My reply was to your "switching off in their droves" comment, it was not about whether I like or dislike the series or like or dislike the HMs. I posted the ratings because people are obviously not switching off.

I think the 43 threads since yesterday about quitting is melodramatic, we should have them all merged. What response do people want? "OK, have fun, bye?"

i've always thought they should have two numbers for each housemate. one to evict, one to save. each housemate would start at zero points and a save vote would give them a point and an evict would take one away. then the person with the smallest number would be evicted. that seems the fairest way to me.

That would be too confusing for the viewers of BB to understand.
