Rylan said this morning on This Morning that it's vote to evict for civilian BB and vote to save for celeb BB, because fans want to vote for their fav celebs as if it was some sweet thing they do?! Just means they get more money's worth out of the fees they pay for the more expensive contestants.
However, because of social media following and, hence voting, it always comes down to how many followers you have, and as Lewis has the most out of all the contestants (I only checked Twitter), he could easily win. Reality stars will always have more followers (apart from the really big names who wouldn't go in) due to the nature of them extending their fake storylines on Twitter between programmes. If you look at ex reality stars like Mark Wright, they don't have anywhere near as many. I'm writing a book but was told I won't get a publisher unless I have high numbers of followers as its a guarantee nowadays of sales. This is why they all bring out books on how they do their eyelashes etc. as their name will sell it. |

Same for that Ricky from Geordie Bore and Lauren from TOWIE, infact they were out in a (think it was a 6way) double eviction! Twitter and the followers im sure do have some impact on the voting, but not to the extent people think. CBB attracts a very young audience and dare i say it chavvy audience. The trashy likes of Marnie and Lewis will always do fairly well, but neither will win. |

Remember what happened to the likes of Natalie and Kirk on CBB9? Especially Kirk, he had more followers than most of the others put together and still polled the least in a VTS (he has 1.3m followers right now). And like we said, Sam came 5th despite having the most followers. Denise won despite having far less than Frankie. |

Ricci also has 757,000 followers and couldn't beat Audley, Dee, Edele, Gary, James and George despite having more followers than all of them put together.

People that moan about vote to save have been whining for years. It's a popularity show, therefore people vote for who they like, i.e to save. Like Bear for example. Bear to win. Vote SAVE.

It's supposed to be a popularity contest just like other realities.
Imagine IAC, X Factor and BGT had a VTE style? The great singers would be voted out in Week 1 because they are a threat. |

If anyone's interested I just did a quickie twitter check on the top 5 of CBB15 ...and they all placed in the complete reverse order of who had the most followers.
Katie Price (1st place) 12.6 thousand Katie Hopkins (2nd place) 47.6 thousand. Calum Best (3rd place) 62. 5 thousand Keith Chegwin (4th place) 173 thousand Michelle Visage (5th place) 276 thousand I don't think you can measure potential votes against actual followers. Doesn't work It ignores the fact that 'follower' does not equal 'fan'. It ignores the fact that 'followers' can be purchased. It ignores the fact that 'followers' can be outside of the UK and it DEFINITELY ignores the fact that a 'follower' doesn't equal a viewer... How can it? Add up all the followers of all the housemates in a single series and you'd be looking at ratings to rival a Morcambe & Wise Christmas special. |

Consolidated (including on-demand downloads) each one jumps up by another million (data via the BARB website). So they tend to get around two and a half million views per episode. It tops the channel 5 charts every week, with few other shows on the channel getting close to it.
Quite why everyone always seems to think its dying on its arse and about to get canned is beyond me. Even when they slice the budget of the sodding thing it still does just as well and therefore makes them an even bigger profit. It's fine. It's here forever. It owns us. We are but ants to it. No, the launch night topped the weekly Channel 5 figures but the other nights were all behind CAN'T PAY? WE'LL TAKE IT AWAY. This is for W/E 31st July. The launch night only has a higher audience, it then drops off. http://www.barb.co.uk/viewing-data/weekly-top-30/ Apologies KT just realised you have done totals, let me look at those. ETA You are correct, apart from one night it was behind Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away. It will be interesting to see the official figures for w/e 7/ August when they come out. |

This is a transcript of what Emma said
"Over the next three days housemates will be thrust into a high risk game of chance in which HMs will be given the choice to play for group gain or personal reward. Every decision they make will come with a cost and on Friday one HM will be left paying a hefty price." Worth watching, IMO. If it's bullshit, C5 should be prepared for a drop in ratings. I will be watching to see how BB saves Bear and friends again ![]() GET THE MORON`S AND TARTS OUT |

Vote to save is nothing to do with this.
What is to do with this Celebrity version is the cast the producers put on, the edit (with pretend showmance and bias) and the audience the show has been aiming for on CH5. |

It's hard, because both have drawbacks. Vote to save really makes more sense as it's voting to KEEP the ones we actually want on our screens. but then vote to evict is the show's foundation, voting out the worst ones. Vote to evict was fine last series really, and Bear etc are ruining the series for a lot of people so vote to evict would save it. However, there's really no way to know
Interestingly Big Brother Australia once had a combined thing but if I recall correctly it was a bit of a mess! |

Big Brother Australia worked pretty well overall actually, even if the winner wasn't always good you had some good HMs getting to the end.
The best part of the last series was actually a twist that put Lateysha out and vote to save that put Ryan at risk. And the vote to win at the end gave a decent winner for most people. |

I have always preferred VTE and it doesn't change with who is up. I've believed this for years

People moan when it's VTS
People moan when it's VTE People just change their opinions depending on who's up and what week or series it is. Fickle people. No wonder C5 don't have respect because the public themselves don't even know what they want. In BB14 there were people who threatened to boycott the show because it was VTE and they wanted VTS. In BB13 the Conor haters wanted VTE instead of VTS. Can't take people seriously. |
