Smart hub v hh5
skycatcher
10-08-2016
Just migrated from planet to get infinity this morning. Was using a hh5 with planet and getting a connection of 30mb. Put on the smart hub that by sent at cutover and was getting 20mb! Left it for a bit and did a reboot but still 20mb...so put the hh5 back on and now getting 28mb....so is the hh5 a better modem than the smart router.

Before the hh5 I was also getting 20mb using a plusnet fibre router with an open reach modem....

No there shouldn't be much of a difference, both my HH5 Type A (ECI chipset) and Type B (Broadcom chipset) and Smart Hub (Broadcom chipset) all sync around the same speeds to my cab (ECI). The Type A gives a slightly faster download but the Type B and SH gives a slightly faster upload.
