Ed Sheeran song has been compressed and Marvin Gayes estate has enhanced it which shows it maybe similar?

Marvin's family are always pointing the finger and taking people to court. How many times is this now?

Well it isn't Ed's fault as he never produced it. Jake Gosling did.

I pray it goes to court & gets thrown out. These lawyers - Americans in particular - are beyond mercenary...

It does sound the same. The first time I heard it I sung "Let's Get it On" straight away. Thought it was just me.

Funny how they alwaya go for the biggest selling songs.
I'm sure there are lots of other lesser well known songs which have the same chord progressions as Gaye's songs.
Pop music has been around a long time now, it's inevitable that similarities will crop up more and more. Personally I don't think the Ed Sheeran song sounds enough like Gaye's but they did have a point with Blurred Lines.

I wonder if Gayes estate has heard Loving You by Paolo Nutini?
It sounds more similar than the Sheeran song but probably made only a fraction of the money!

Actually, it isn't Marvin Gaye's family who are bringing this case, it is Ed Townsend's family, Ed wrote Let's Get it ON.

Just checked out the Nutini song and you're right it sounds more like Let's Get It On than Ed's song, but of course Ed's is more popular. It was used as the first dance at a wedding I went to recently!
