Coincidence or not, tonight's first episode showed parked cars on the street!!!
She's run out of ideas already?? Parked cars are a ground -breaking revelation. There must be a few of her old storylines she can resurrect and make worse!

Dear Kate,

Drop the plans of making Maria the star of your tenure, she has zero charisma onscreen and is just a drag to watch. Sarah is better leading lady material with Leanne as backup.
Absolutely anyone is better than Maria and the attrocious amateur actress who plays her. I am sick to death of hearing her dreary voice and her ending almost every single sentence with a sigh of huh.
There must be thousands of unemployed actors who could do better than her

Dear Kate (and the rest of you who get paid to write)

What the hell is so wrong in having a happy couple in a life long relationship which doesn't involve deceit, betrayel and heartbreak? And, shock, horror, their kids are happy too?

Cheers

Dear Doormouse.

Coronation Street is essentially a profit making business. We write stories to entertain people and employ actors to portray these stories on screen. We pay these actors with the profit we make from advertising revenue
While the thoughts of what you mention give me a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside, this idea is not very entertaining. Were we to act this out on screen, people may not watch and we could lose revenue and would not be making a profit and our lovely actors may lose their jobs.
While I appreciate your comments, please remember this isn't real life and it's all for fun
Kind Regards
Kate

Dear Kate,

Thank you for your swift reply. Did you write it while you were half asleep though, only it seems you were under the impression I couldn't differentiate between real life and soaps. I doubt you had a 'warm fuzzy feeling' as it appears you only know about cruelty, pain, betrayel and deceit. As screwed up as you clearly are, there actually are people who are in loving, comitted relationships with living, happy children. Not everyone screws their siblings/is straight-then gay-then straight-then gay/wants to kill someone/sleeps with sister's husband/get's pregnant and isn't happy or get's pregnant and IS happy (so obviously loses it)/ad nauseum. Once in a while, much to the chagrin of those who crave constant 'excitement(torment), why not show us 'boring' people a tiny slice of 'niceness', however fanciful that might be to you.

Enjoy your toast and best wishes
Doormouse
