Well done for putting all those points so well. This edition of CBB - but also BB in general these days - has made me feel sad as well as angry! The fault should be laid at C5/Endemol/BB production staff for allowing the likes of Bear etc to behave as they do. It was completely out of order to get rid of Biggins but let the oiks run riot in the house and threaten and intimidate others.
I think I'm only watching because of this forum (in particular the HL threads) and because I'd like to see justice prevail and Lewis and Bear kicked out. If they aren't I'll have to stop watching but I guess part of it for all of us is a morbid fascination in the worst human behaviour. I often liken it to Christians being thrown to the lions which was a popular sport in Rome thousands of years ago! Humans haven't changed much.

I know it was a contentious thing to say but no argument or offence ensued within the discussion between the two people and I wonder, rightly or wrongly, maybe it would have been a better course of action diplomatically, of BB to have not aired the conversation rather than removing him from the house.
However, the decision to only give a warning to Aubrey for spitting in Bear's food and drink and then, more disturbingly, allow him to consume it (presuming BB monitor the proceeding's continuously) and then airing the footage, I find completely baffling! The act itself I found to be vile and disgusting on Aubrey's part but to then more or less condone it by allowing the viewers to see it without real consequence is surely irresponsible to say the least! Not to mention the condoning of any kind of behaviour is totally acceptable as long as performed within a 'dare' as in the Marnie/Saira episode which I found to be intimidating and verging on bullying (I said verging on). I despair of any kind of moral message being presented to society by what some, sadly misguided people see as role models.

However, after that rant, of which I apologise for the length of, I will still watch the show so does that make me a hypocrite? I will have to ponder that question at length

Paragraphs are important if you want people to read your opinions, all wall of text is no fun for anyone to wade through, no matter how valid the points.

Miss_Chievous, keep posting. always good to air out opinions and learn different mindsets. You can often learn more about soicity from forums and TV shows than some people who live on a diet of red top papers. Its all about debate and opinions which is healthy...Although i may have a different take on the Mr Biggins situation than i think you have

Like the OP it's a guilty pleasure for me also.

As to why they are doing it? Revenue. There is no message to society - the only message they care about is the message to their bank account.

Steve Allen who does the early morning breakfast show on LBC radio was saying that CH5 couldn't get sponsors for the show this time around, so that means the only revenue is from advertising and phone calls.

From what I can see, this entire "gang of four" (apologies to Shirley Williams...) has been constructed to raise voting revenue. Bear may well have that "eternal nomination", but BB will ensure that there are always 4 or 5 up for eviction - coupled with a VTS - that means fans are effectively forced into multiple votes to try and get Bear out....

I have no problem with the lack of paragraphs!
I feel quite strongly about the message that is put across in this CBB

Sadly a lot of the bad behaviour is coming from people who at youngest are in their middle 20s!

This is giving permission for anyone particularly impressions younger viewers who see this as acceptable behaviour and more than that behaviour that may lead to success.

I agree with your post, and have to say I am not enjoying this CBB series, but its a habit I can't kick, I managed to stop watching civilian BB a few year's back, but still enjoyed the celeb version. I am waiting for it to turn around, I'm sure Frankie must do something in a 24hr period, I do find him light relief. Bear makes me laugh, but the thing with Chloe is wrecking him for me.

BB aren't trying to give any message to society, they're just providing what their main audience wants. Sadly, a large percentage of this forum are no longer part of that audience. Shows like TOWIE, Geordie Shore and Ex on the Beach are hugely popular right now - these people are highly in demand and cover the gossip magazines and tabloids from from front to back, week after week, and BB are simply catering to that market.

BB will never return to its roots as, sadly, there just isn't a big enough demand for that type of show anymore

I wonder? From the sheer number of comments here and on just about every site relating to BB or CBB, I have a sneaking suspicion that there would be quiet a large audience who would enjoy watching BB in it's original format - with a few tweaks!

Enjoyed reading your post, OP, and feel the same. Sadly I have given up watching, and now follow the happenings of the house on the forums. However, I know I will be back again for the next series, in the hope that the producers have seen the light and will try to cater to all ages - not just [ IMO ] trashy reality rubbish.

There is hope - Jason won BB! Could we make it a double and keep James in? Not sure what the ''squad'' would make of that.

I too was happy with Jason winning, in my own opinion I thought he conducted himself very well, and I would hope his winning provoked a bit of thought from the 'bedroom bitches' regarding their own behaviour, I doubt it though, unfortunately. Made a nice change from all the usual histrionics.

Bingo, on the money. i have been trying to say on this forum that a lot of the postions BB takes is based on money, ads and sponsers (including the whole Biggins situation). And the crowd that everyone wants to chase is those reality TV viewers because they will put that dedicated voting in.

I totally agree with your opinion ,which I share ,It has all gone to trash now ,have to accept it is what channel 5 have decided to make it now ..gradually taken over by trailor trash antics ,accepted as banter and fun

Geordie shore ,towie etc ..just another clone of them ,no other people stand a chance of edit or air time ...total airheads ,doing what they do every day ..
