Mark Ronson says its her best work so I think it might be similar to Amy Winehouse stuff. Its time for Lady Gaga to come back and slay!
An artist's new album is nearly always called their best work by the songwriters and producers involved in making it. It's just hype. I doubt Lady Gaga will ever slay in the UK again.

Oh yes she will.

In other news Lady Gaga has said the single will be a dance anthem for our generation. Can't wait.

I'm really excited for this. I can see her going back to her Fame days but taking another step ahead.

Part of me wants it to leak but another wants me to wait!

Dilemma

Still bigging herself up I see. That's where she goes wrong.

I know I cringed when I read that....she needs to just stop hyping her own material and let it speak for itself

I think its just the way she is. To her music is art. So she is always going to believe its the greatest thing ever. Its just her personality.

I cannot wait to hear it. Its been so long since we had dance Gaga. I've actually missed her loads.

i am excited for this new adventure too

my hopes and fears are:

hopes:
1. a more earnest organic music based pop album
2. creativity from the alternative and diverse not mainstream is sought
3. no song is worse than 'jewels and drugs'
4. there is a duet with Madonna, Katy Perry or Kylie M?

fears:
1. songs that sound to familiar to or artistry that looks to familiar to ...
2. over hype machine
3. copycat Amy W

No, the person who said this is joking. She didn't say it was a dance anthem for our generation. She has barely said a word about the song.

After the amount of backlash she received for her inflated ego, I can assure you she's not going to be acting like that again. Her career for the last two years has been about damage control and I doubt she is going to be testing people's patience with LG5. She's still a commercial pop act who has to make a lot of money for her record label, at the end of the day.

Not hating cause I love Gaga, but didn't she kind of say that about BTW? I've learned to take her grander statements with a pinch of salt.

I still can't wait for her to come back and slay, I just hope she doesn't waffle on as much as she did during AP.

Would've saved it if she had. It was dire this year.

It sure was. I just watched the whole thing on TV, or rather fast forwarded through 3/4's of it! 95% of the nominees, performers and presenters were urban/r'n'b/rap acts. Where were the rock acts, pop acts? You can't even call Britney a pop act anymore when she's trying to sound all r'n'b with guest rappers, etc. Ariana Grande, who I like as a singer, did such a stupid routine, I thought and had to go and ruin her performance by getting the screechy Minaj on with her! The whole show was so one-dimensional. As for Beyonce's performance, well people go on about Lady Gaga being OTT and pretentious, I thought Beyonce was exactly that! Sure, she has a great voice and her performance was quite a visual spectacle but I found it really pretentious and as for the music, dreadful! Where was the melody?!! It made me laugh when she kept shouting to the audience "come on, sing along, sing with me" - singalong to what?!!! There was so melody, no catchy hook in anything she sang to singalong to!! Rihanna's performances, well I wasn't keen on the majority of songs she chose to perform. She's had so many better hits than those she chose, imo. Her final medley, where she sang Stay, Diamonds and Love On The Brain was my favourite by far. None of the tiresome gyrating, crotch-grabbing and twerking, just a good performance and she sang really well, I thought. Probably my favourite moment of the night was Drake's speech when presenting Rihanna with her award. I can't stand Drake's music but I thought his speech was really sweet and heartwarming. He seems like a nice guy. It's just his music I don't like!

The least said about Kanye West the better (his ego knows no bounds!) and who were those 2 hosts, who seemed to fancy themselves as comedians? Honestly, I've watched the VMA's every year since the early 90's and I have to say this was, by far, the worst one EVER!!! At least in the past you had a real variety of nominees and performers, from all styles of music, not just r'n'b and rap!!

As for Lady Gaga, yes I think she would have been a highlight of the show, whatever she sang! I'm looking forward to her new music. She always seems to come out with something interesting and enjoyable, even if it's not always entirely original!

I am really looking forward to Perfect Illusion.

I think this will be a huge turning point for her after any backlash she received. I think she's a great artist!

I like some of Lady Gaga's songs, but I don't see her changing too much. She has shown that outside the album with Tony Bennett, she's not interested in reinventing her music.
I don't see her doing anything too organic. It will be an album of electro pop/dance stuff.
I don't think she will go in any truly alternative direction as far as the music.
She doesn't seem too interested in being a confessional or earnest artist as far as her lyrics. She likes to keep them more vague.
I think this album will appeal to her fans who have liked her previous albums but I don't see it winning over that many new people.
That's one thing she doesn't have in common with Madonna. Lady Gaga really isn't so into reinvention or change.

I think that I may be right a more pop rock sound is on the cards. More Bowie, applause meets extra rock I'm guessing.

I've always thought that Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson would be a natural fit so this is going to be epic.
