Confused on migrating phone over - Moto G2 to Moto G4
I currently have a Moto G 2nd Gen (Moto G2) phone, I am giving that one to my parents and getting a Moto G4 Plus. On my Moto G2 phone I have apps and data split between SIM and SD card, I also have a 2nd phone Sim. Just got some questions.....
1. How do I move everything from the phone, 2 sims and SD to my new phone ? My new phone won't need SD as it will have 64gb of space compared to the 8gb I had before. 2. How do I make sure the phone I give my parents is completely fresh and clean with nothing of mine left on there ? As though it was brand new to them. Thanks for any help !! |

There's the Moto migrate tool that does a reasonable job, I recently migrated one Moto to an Moto G4plus and nearly everything transferred except a couple of apps and SMS messages which I used an app called Sms Backup to transfer across.
Once you're sure you've got everything across then use the Android 'factory data reset' in settings:backup and reset. That'll restore it to as new. |
