Every highlight show just feels like a repeat:
-Bear winding someone up
-everyone talking about bear
-Bear and Chloe snogging
-Renee yelling all the time
It's so DULL...

Yeah can't disagree, this series is utter crap. And you're not wrong with your summation. I spent this evening watching Team GB in the cycling which was far more entertaining, I flicked over to ch5 inbetween heats to catch up on CBB and it was the same old shite on rinse and repeat, exactly as you described it. It's like some hellish pantomime

Starting to struggle in the ratings I notice : only 1.3m viewers for the Wednesday episode (and I wasn't one of them, I'm not even watching it anymore).

Quite funny how it gets lower in the ratings. No tears shed here
And this is definitely one of the poorest CBBs

It got 1.6m. Higher than last summer despite being against Olympics. Beat Channel 4 and BBC2.

It's in the 1.6-1.8 range which is great for C5 AND above average for summer CBB.

So c5 will be celebrating.

It's not getting lower ratings.

It's getting bigger ratings

I thought 1.3m sounded a little low.

I don't know where the poster got 1.3m from. It got 1.4m excl +1. 1.6m including.

Doing extremely well.

Eviction got 1.7m.

Yes, that's what I thought as I read it in the ratings thread earlier.

I wonder what it would be getting if if were not directly up against the Olympics.

It seems to not be getting hurt at all by the Olympics. It was getting 1.6-1.7m before the Olympics and getting that now.

In that case then, trash and chavdom sells (which is not too encouraging for future runs of the series). Perhaps they've found their new target audience.

Is it possible they've lost viewers and gained viewers?

I mean lost some of the old BB viewers who don't like the TOWIE tone and gained viewers who do so it's sort of self-corrected?

Well that shut them up. I'm enjoying it, I flick to the Olympics in ad breaks.

Yep, these were the first 4 officials:

2.71m, 2.13m, 2.00m, 2.11m. And with the ratings of the last week, we should be seeing ~2.2m+

Probably. But whatever it is, more people are watching this year than last summers CBB (Janice/Austin/James/Farrah one).

I think it's risky to start chasing the trashy reality TV viewership. Those are the types who could easily abandon the show and by that stage everyone else will have lost interest in the format and the brand.
