When planning a first date I asked suggested several very nice (and rather pricy!) restaurants to look impressive.
We ended up in one of those copy chicken restaurants (I think it was called Fandos or Nandis) Her suggestion. At the end of the night she even said we'd have been better in McDonald's as she could have had a toy with her Happy Meal

Yes, she still has Happy Meals despite being 32.

I was a Nandos virgin til last year so thought I'd see what the fuss was about.

I've been a few times since, I quite like it. I like to have a nice skinless chicken breast with mango and lime sauce with sweet potato fries or spicy rice. Endless drinks.

I couldn't compare it to KFC, that awful stuff the chicken is coated in, the smell makes me gag when I walk past.

My fella says the veggie options are decent in Nandos too.

It serves a purposes

I also don't think I should have to accept meat slaughtered in a way that doesn't agree with my religion. Without wanting to turn this into a Muslim bashing thread would you ask a Muslim to drink communal wine? After all it's only fermented grape juice that's been blessed. Or perhaps eat something from a Jewish Kosher deli? Thought not.”

Muslims can eat kosher food though.

Did you email Head Office to complain? I would have and you'd probably have got a meal voucher then.

Not the KFC skin though. I don't even like KFC.

Nandos seems to be full of lower class people and those that see themselves as "lads" who go for a "cheeky nandos".

I've never been to one as there aren't any branches near enough. I'd really like to try it though just to see what all the fuss is about. I don't think I've ever known such a hyped up eatery until Nandos came along!

I wasn't aware it was rated particularly highly. I thought most people just see it as a mediocre place to eat - Not great but not terrible.

You probably dont, but if you eat any takeaway, Chinese, Indian, chicken shop, pizza places you will be eating halal products, they all use them as a basic rule.

Went to Namdos once. Chicken was cold. Now bearing in mind serving hot chicken is basically their sole purpose in this existence, that was something of a let down.

Haven't been back.

I love saying "cheeky nandos" for the simple reason that it annoys some people so much the foods usually hot and tasty its not a premium place to eat but its healthier than mcdonalds or kfc.

Most of these large chain resturanmts are over rated, we had a new., not sure what you call it, but I will call it a shopping centre a couiple of years or so back, with a load of these over rated restaurants, Nandos, Chimichanga, Prezzo, wagamama, Miller & Carter and Frankie & Benny's, i know people who have gone in them and as of yet I have not found one person who have any thing fantastic to say about them.
I went into Frankie and benny's last year when I went to our new cinema and i was not that impressed, I had a cheese burger, not sure what the hell the cheese was, but I would certainly not call it cheese and some chips, that was tasteless.
£12 for the bruger and almost £4 for a few fries and £15 for a bottle of Merlot that really was not worth it.
spoons would have been better, cheaper, better burger, better fries, with a beer and cheaper. The only reason we choose f and B was because it was close to the cinema.

Never again.

so it seems none of these chains are that great.

Wagamama is good you get loads for your money, agree about F&B though over priced and not that great.
