I've met two. One at uni, one at work.
The one at uni had the most impact, we were close group of friends all living in halls and, because we we young and naive, we thought that we could all "help" and "rescue" this person... we were thoroughly played. From money, to coursework, to ridicule and emotional games.
When I met the same personality type years late in the workplace, the memory of the first came flooding back like it was yesterday. She was female, mid-20s and the rest of the office were terrified of her and her strops. She absolutely ruled the roost. I found a new job within a month as I knew by then she would never change and working there would be a misery.
If you've met any Bear-types, how did you cope?
