Or will there be some old hangers-on who will still love him no matter what?

Like Anthony Cotton, Biggins knows where the bodies are buried - the public will have turned against him but we will still see him on TV, if you say he is a National Treasure enough times - people will start to believe it.
Every story involves stars who are a great friend of his - or so he says. Like something on your shoe, Biggins is going to be hard to get rid off!

he didn't have many proper fans before did he, that's why he was appearing on utter shit like BOTS?

I don't mean armchair fans who quite liked him, I mean actual fans who would pay money for tickets

He was boasting about getting 13,000 new followers on Twitter a couple of days after he was evicted. I'm not sure all followers are fans, though.

Yes, what is all that about. I can't stand that guy. His 'real' character on IACGMOOH was awful and his acting is dire.

What constitutes proper fans anymore? As the poster below has just stated, he has 13,000 new followers on twitter now, a boast by Biggins. How is celebrity status measured anymore?

they could be 'haters'

or undesirable fans, maybe they want him to go on a rally?

I don't know, some of my favourite celebrities aren't even on the Twitter so Marnie has nearly a million more followers than people that earn a right good living out of having actual talent

Has he returned from his 'trip' in one piece?

Dunno what the bloke was thinking. Just a thought, did Katie's odds change after his little 'joke'?

Apparently people can 'buy' twitter followers.

He and his partner decided to spend five days in October in Poland with a visit to Auschwitz (before entering CBB according to Biggins).

He'll probably get the trip paid for now (and more) by doing articles and interviews about it afterwards.

Maybe he could organise a trip to the Bisexual Resource Center in Boston as well - with a few more articles and interviews after. Perhaps he already has - before he even entered CBB!!!

He didn't say or do anything, that we know of, that his fanbase would disown him for. At least that's the way it seems to me.

He was evicted from the house and he's apologised. What more proof do you need?

Proof of what?

He wasn't evicted by the public. His apology was half-hearted at best -- in fact most of it was him talking about how supportive his fans have been.

Well I know that, he was evicted by big brother. What he said has been printed. Half-hearted or not, he apologised for what he said. I have no idea where you're going with this.

I guess I'm just confused as to what you mean. You say it's proof. But proof of what?

That he's lost his fanbase?

If that's the case why pose the question as a thread. I also don't see how it related to my original post. His fanbase, such as it is, seem to be sticking by him because they don't consider his comments to be that bad. Most of what I've read is people saying BB over-reacted. His apology is just him being cautious. It doesn't cost him anything to apologise. It's a pascal wager move.

I guess I just don't understand why you pulled up my post and said that his eviction and apology were proof. I'm not trying to be clever or an ass I honestly don't get what you were saying.

Having visited Auschwitz myself I hope he comes back realizing there's no joke material to be associated with such a place.

Yes, I see where the confusion came from. I read your first sentence incorrectly, just reading 'He didn't say or do anything, that we know of,' and missing the rest, so I apologise for that. You'll know more than I then, being a fan. Interesting. I wonder how many more people think a lot has been made out of nothing?

Well, I'm not a fan. But I don't think his comments, the ones I know about, were that bad. I haven't been following the tabloid storm so it's possible he's said other things that I'm unaware of.

But from the reactions I have seen online a lot of people seem to think he's been judged harshly by BB and the press. Which leads me to believe his fans are fine with him.

I'll have a look at his web site to see if there are any comments. I've never liked Biggins and expected him to win this show actually. I'm shocked that a 'national treasure' went from hero to zero so quickly (with a lot of the public).
