Did they really get it on before soldier Caz walked in. I've heard of 'a quickie' but this was beyond belief.

I like both characters & tonight's scenes were good as far as they went, but such a woeful lack of any sort of build up to this episode & whatever some on here might say, very out of character for Maria these days!!
However, now they've done it, time to move on & I'm looking forward a lot to all the stuff from here on!! Shayne, Samia & Cath are all good friends in real life so looking forward to more of them working together!!

I'd be lucky if I could last that long with Maria in that position!!

Me too, I enjoyed the Maria and Aidan scenes tonight. They do have a natural chemistry that doesn't feel forced.

I thought they worked really well together, and really liked how they connected over their grief for the death of people close to them.

Their scenes were really good, in my opinion.

Why don't they put Eva with Gary? They have made her very annoying lately, especially at his flat when she brought that big suitcase and then told Johnny off for saying he hadn't run it by her yet about living there, made me think what a cheeky madam! Then constantly ringing him like a bunny boiler. I don't get why he went round to Maria's though, I know they are friends but he just turned up out of the blue, I thought he only mixed with her when he was with Eva and her mates. Didn't know he regularly called at her door without Eva. Bit silly.

I think he will be Sarah's next conquest.

I agree with you all, the scenes themselves with Aidan were great and the chemistry good!! I guess my only gripe is the lack of build up scenes between the two of them leading up to him suddenly calling round, though i have to admit it was less contrived than I expected after the first episode

We all know Maria is a sweet & accommodating soul who I'm sure has enough of her own special brand of love to go round!!

Quite nice to see a positive thread about Maria and a potential love interest, when this storyline was first pitched I was expecting it be all pro Eva and Aidan and anti Maria (still not convinced that's not how it will probably end up though). I too really enjoyed their scenes tonight, they seemed like a natural fit and it'd be nice to see Maria with a long term partner (although I did like her with Luke as well). The Luke/Maria/Caz scenes ruined it slightly as they were poorly written and very contrived but I really thought I was going to hate this storyline but its got off to a much better start than I was expecting. I feel sorry for Luke but I feel nothing for Eva, I just plain don't like her. I won't get my hopes up to much though about Aidan/Maria as I still have this gut feeling that Maria's being used as a plot device to propel Aidan and Eva as bigger characters on the show. Hope to be proved wrong though.

I think they did work quite well together. It's a shame that they weren't put together initially, rather than making it an affair.

I hate that they're making Eva unlikable in order to justify it though. She's usually a lot more sensitive than this. When Aidan told her it was the anniversary today and she flippantly said "What, wedding anniversary?" when she knew he'd lost his mum and generally when people refer to an anniversary in a sad way like that, it's a death or wedding anniversary of a loved one who's died.

They should have had Aidan build a relationship with Liam jr to give more of a build up to Maria being with him. Although it did kind of make sense when Aiden said "have I been walking around blind?" meaning that he never saw her worth before. They also should probably have had them randomly bump into each other elsewhere then lead back to her flat. It's a shame that Eva's probably going to end up losing her job at Underworld after all this. Then what? She's only part time at the pub and had to fill in for Sarah's absence since she's been back.

I think they're better suited too but he tells Maria to back off and stop being all bunny boiler when he finds out she's dumped Luke.

If you want that sort of girl I suggest you have a word with Mary, she is free at the moment and I don't think that she is too fussy.

This is all looking like turning into a great storyline, particularly with the Caz stuff intermingled!! After waiting 2 1/2 years for a storyline Samia's now got two at once!! Really can't wait to see how it all unfolds & there's going to be a lot more Aidan/Maria scenes to come seemingly!!

Yeah I quite like Maria and Aiden together too. And yes Eva is annoying lately.

Hopefully though, now she is being made miserable, we won't have to hear that stupid laugh of hers so often.
