I really enjoyed the Maria and Aidan scenes tonight. It's great to see Maria so prominent in the episodes at the moment.

There was some great scenes with her tonight!! Did feel for Luke but I'm glad they've split them up if I'm honest!! They were going nowhere not particularly fast!!
I do hope we get plenty more scenes between Aidan & Maria, though he did himself no favours tonight!! For someone who's meant to be a ladies' man he didn't handle tonight well at all!!

Is it just my imagination or are we already getting the lingering looks from Caz towards Maria?
Can't wait for wednesday's episode now & I haven't felt like that about Corrie much at all in the last few years!!

After seeing another attempt by her tonight to portray emotion, I could not agree with you less! Her idea of being upset is to sniffle & make strangulated noises.

Also, I did not mean that they should have shown them in flagrante but the lead up to the kiss could have been more subtle, in fact they didn't need to have sex at all. A realisation of attraction to each other could have been turned into a simmering storyline of will they won't they - but Corrie writers don't do subtlety.

Maria was good tonight. I thought Aiden was horrible though - really sweaty and shifty. Luke is much nicer in every way imo

I'm interested to see what spitefullness Caz does next

I think making Maria more prominent was a great idea, really enjoying this story.

She needs to stop lusting over men she can't have! I'm glad she dumped Luke, but she went about it far too brazenly.

Let's hope Maria'll protect that luscious hair.......wouldn't want Eva finding out about the one-night stand. Otherwise she'll need all the treatment she can get from Audreh.

That was one of the most telling parts of friday's episode to me when she said to Aidan "he's just a lad, he hasn't lived & he hasn't lost!"

She had seen their relationship in a new light after he didn't understand her being upset over Kylie's death & it had made the gap in age & life experience look a lot bigger!!
There was guilt over knowing she would upset him but for me, and I think for Maria their relationship was already over when she 'slept with' Aidan!!

He should have been more than dumped for not being sad about Kylie!! Who isn't sad about Kylie? EVERYONE should be sad about Kylie

I found her emotional scenes tonight really convincing as always but as I said earlier I'm well aware others aren't fans of her acting style!!
She certainly plays her scenes in her own style, love it or hate it!!

Luke is a lovely lad, but Maria's right he deserves someone whose heart is in their relationship & you always got the impression Maria's heart was never totally in it right from the start!!

Agree about Aidan, he handled both Eva and Maria atrociously tonight & deserves neither!! I did however still enjoy the scenes between Shayne & Samia!!

I can see Shayne Ward quitting under Kate Oates if he doesn't get decent storylines.

With the way women in soaps seem to get up the duff at the shake of a trouser leg, I'm half expecting another pregnancy storyline.

He has been acting in musicals for the last few years I think.

His role in xfactor had nothing to do with him getting the job, he audiioned along with others and had to wait to hear if he had been cast

Yeah they've given him a good 'bedding in' period (excuse the pun ) & he's establishing Aidan's character all the time as he goes along!! One of Corrie's better 'newbie' signings for me!!

So is the idea that Maria actually fancies Aiden and wants to be with him? Choosing to sleep with Aiden and splitting up with Luke would seem to suggest it. I really didn't appreciate how she seemed to be blaming Aiden for what they both got up to and it does come across like she wants him to suffer because of it.

I can't stand Maria but the way they are treating her at the moment is just ridiculous. Why on earth would Maria move Caz in and then get all huffy with her boyfriend who was justifiably and clearly uncomfortable about it Mind her cheating and with another women's boyfriend is Maria's character through and through so at least that rings true and her trying to destroy what Aiden has would be right up her street too.

I don't think there was much choosing about it!! They both had too much to drink & ended up doing what a thousand other soap characters do in that situation!!
I don't think for a minute she wants to be with Aidan, no, but I also think that her & Luke were already over in her mind by the stuff she was saying to Aidan about Luke been, just a lad who hadn't lived & hadn't lost & how he didn't understand her being upset at Kylie's death etc!! Basically she finally saw what the rest of us have seen for a long time that her & Luke just aren't compatible!!
I really don't get your statement that she is blaming Aidan for their 'tryst', or wanting him to suffer, she just didn't take very kindly to Aidan keeping rubbing her nose in how she meant nothing & was just a worthless notch on his bedpost which is how he came across!!
If anything I think it was him blaming her & making her suffer for it tbh the way he kept following her around saying "you haven't told anybody yet?" & then brought up all the stuff from her past!!
Your last sentence is way off mark too, she may have had somewhat loose morals about who she slept with in the past, I can't deny that but she has never had a malicious bone in her!!
