Is this the start of a BB revolution to go back to the traditional style?

With James Whale getting the most votes to stay tonight... And Emma Willis' speech... Are we going to see CBB go back to the traditional style, with viewers now getting bored with nonsense showmances, etc. and wanting old school CBB with proper celebs etc.? Surely the producers will have to rethink the strategy about getting Towie/GS people in the future.

It will be intresting to see what happens from here, i doubt it will ever go back fully but maybe some things will chnage in how they push certain housemates.

I think it depends on the ratings getting higher and viewers returning.

I really hope so but doubt it. At least we now know that if enough people pick up the phone on mass we can make a difference to the narrative of a series at least.

I'd hope to goodness it would be but we shall see.

Jason winning over that shower in the last civilian series gave a glimpse of hope and tonight's events have kept that flame burning!

As much as I would like to see a return to the old format inc 24/7 live feed....there's more chance of hell freezing over

I really doubt it but I wish. They could start by not having a majority of reality people in there

Remember when twin Emma was kicked out and people thought that mean BB was taking a harder line on HMs who acted like they wanted to leave? And how it turned out to mean nothing of the kind, and Jason could talk of leaving as much as he liked and even get violent with the fittings.

This won't be any more of a revolution than that.

BB have been petulant and shown disdain for anyone that criticises their new direction, they'll just make it more obvious to cheese people off.

I'm just hoping Emma's opinions and rylans agreement carries some weight, as a career none of them will stay if they're connected to cheap smutty tv.

I hope so Morbid.

Isn't the next CBB going to be all-stars?

Clearly they will pick the trashiest of the trash to bring back.

Tonight sealed it for me.

I realised that the public are always right and that by James getting the most votes, we as fans want to watch BB, not an EOTB or Geordie Shore mashup.

Hopefully any future housemate will realise that a showmance is futile and that we as the public just don't buy it anymore.

I really wish they would go back to how BB used to be , instead of all these younger ones from the trash shows who THINK they are Celebritys and are really nothings on Porn shows

Only saying

About time they did an all stars there have been better celebrities go through CBB then trashy reality show nobodies. I wouldn't choose any from the current show. And If they are going to choose reality show types then include BB ex-HM's and have another Ultimate series.

I don't think it will make much difference unless they are able to get more non reality people to participate. I'd stopped watching this CBB and wasn't even recording it but I'm pleasantly surprised that the voters went for James over the pond life. Will start recording the show again to watch later but I'll continue watching the Olympics live.

The viewers definitely spoke last night.

I miss the good old day of older celebs embarrassing themselves eg - George Galloway drinking milk from a saucer, Julie Goodyear sucking off a banana, John Mcrirrick and his Diet Coke, ''yeah Jackie'' Lional Blair perving over Luisa. ...Those days seem such a long way of to what we have now

It's a sign the BB's audience is ageing with the show, becoming more prude and more right wing.

Nigel Farage should enter next year. He'd walk it.

They want a young audience but perhaps those watching the middle aged number it's higher than they think or want

That post describes this forum perfectly as well. It's like a version now of the old Mary whinehouse viewers and listeners association

I think there needs to be a compromise. We've had some great young people on the show, they just have to be careful who they choose. I don't think Emma spoke out of turn last night, it was a clear message that they are listening, and I imagine it was cleared by the producers.

We proved that when Aaron won! It can be done again.
