Why did Marnie eat the pasta

If she really is wheat intolerant to the extent of making her unwell? I'm sure BB could have provided. Rice or potatoes (even if ther were none in the larder, it would be a reasonable request) to go with the pasta sauce that Renne cooked. Complaining that it was "cheap pasta" is neither here nor there. Unless it's a specialist gluten free alternative, it is going to be mainly flour.

Because she is only wheat intolerant when it comes to wine or beer

Her wheat intolerance is flexible. If she wants it - toast, pasta... - she's not intolerant. If she doesn't want it - beer - she is intolerant. Of course, if the other booze runs out she won't be intolerant to beer.

When was this wheat intolerance mentioned?

I must have missed it.

Heard her moan about ''cheap'' pasta, which I thought was really ridiculous, but ......intolerance?

When they hid the wine because she couldn't have the beer due to her alleged intolerance then after the pasta meal when she is with Lewis in the smoking area she kept saying her stomach felt bad because of the "cheap" pasta. Lewis suggested herbal tea & vegetables with no booze for the next few days. Marnie then said that if she had a reaction, any foodstuffs eaten for a few days would make her feel unwell. All,f which begs my original question - why eat it then? Have the sauce with something else.

I couldn't possibly suggest that being taken poorly & having to rest in the spare room would take her out of any voting scenario should she be nominated again.

Some people with a wheat intolerance can manage durum wheat better than "normal" wheat because it has a different structure/chromosomes. (or something)
Most pasta is made from pure durum wheat, but a couple of the cheaper brands are mixed with wheatflour.

Wheat is wheat durum or otherwise...even spelt has wheat in it just lower amounts. She was eating all the food at the festival too unless it was all gluten free (it usual is rather than just wheat free) . As someone who has dealt with real issues for nearly 40 years which don't give me just a bloated stomach , if she was that I'll she wouldn't eat it.

Coeliacs and IBD sufferers are not taken seriously in restaurants as it is without prats like this

I'm gluten intolerant too. You're quite right - anyone who has to avoid the likes of wheat and barley would not be eating ordinary pasta, in fact you are so cautious, annoyingly cross-examining people who've cooked you food, and reading the labels of everything. I found wheat flour on oven chips the other day.
An 'accident' leaves you with appalling symptoms for days. She may be gluten insensitive, the lesser of the evils, but even then I can't imagine why she would unnecessarily eat things that make you rough. I think someone has told her that bread and beer can bloat you up and she's adopted a fake version of gluten-free as a personal 'storyline'.
ps - This has reminded me I miss brown sauce most and am going off to hunt online for it.

I share your annoyance at imagined intolerance and allergies ( I have a life threatening allergy myself) but like I said, the structure of durum wheat is different and some people can tolerate it. Spelt and rye too.

I am unaware that she claims to have Coeliac or IBS, and when she told Lewis her symptoms, it was obviously not something serious. If it was, she would be avidly checking labels and doing her own food.

I can understand why she would assume that all pasta was made from durum wheat, because until quite recently it was. And I think it should be!

Incidentally, the Morrisons cheapest packet of spaghetti at twenty pence is all durum wheat, but the Sainsburys, Asda and tesco are mixed with common or garden wheat-flour.

All those girls have messed up their faces. I don't know why they bother, it's noticeable and really doesn't improve their looks.

Out of all the things she could make up about herself, I really don't think an intolerance to wheat would be one of them. She was rubbing her stomach on live feed one night- I don't even like marnie much but it seemed genuine to me..

BB would be under some sort of obligation to provide alternative foodstuffs for a HM with a diagnosed allergy or medical intolerance. Similarly someone with a gluten intolerance would query every foodstuff that might reasonably be expected to contain gluten, ie bread, pasta, bakery goods and beer. The celiacs I know do and if they are in doubt, they don't eat that food, just in case. If it is going to make you ill, then you don't take the chance. In her interview before she entered the hous Marnie said she wasn't going to do any chores - she would clear up her own "shit" but nothing else. I think it was pure laziness - she could have put some veg if rice in a saucepan to eat with the sauce but preferred to just eat what someone else cooked even if it was going to cause her problems.

All these 20 somethings who live at home with their parents seem to be spoilt rotten, Stephanie was the same. They expect to be waited on hand and foot, not lift a finger, drop dirty laundry all over the house (& the crap from the food throwing in the bedroom is still there) and generally not behave like adults. They take no personal responsibility for any of their actions because they have never had to,
