One of the show's best actresses leaving. To say I'm gutted is an underestimation.

A definite sign that this producer has balls!

Hope Glenda puts in an appearance before she leaves.

I wonder if she'll be killed off, or go in a black cab?

I hope she isn't killed off...

I just can't see them killing her off somehow unless Sam specifically asked to be which wouldn't be the wisest move in the world.

Maybe she dies, then in ten years from now it can turn out she faked her own death.

Ronnie is one of my all time favourite EastEnders characters but this is for the best I feel. I loved her 'chapter one' and thought her return was ok!

I thought they had balls making Ronnie a murderer and giving her the new 'villain' tag (which never came to anything significant). Since she met Charlie she's been treading water and she has lacked direction. I'm guessing she goes to prison to right the wrong of killing Karl? Ronnie is too good a character to kill off.

Ronnie going makes me think the new producer has his head screwed on. There are too many criminals roaming the square and i think it is better for the longevity of the show if they are punished.

It would be a pretty perfect dramatic and fitting exit karma wise though?

I hope this doesn't mean the end of Claudette because of her killing her husband.

wouldnt have been my choice, have to wonder how long Roxy and Jack will be around without, Jack is such a new return and has been totally linked to her, and Roxy has been so in and out recently, unless they hook up again.

She'll be back again in the future!

Good move by the new producer. Some will disagree, but the biggest problem with Eastenders atm (aside from the lack of a great villain) is that there are too many long term characters/ 'big hitters'. There's no tension or suspense because we know the characters are too big or entrenched in other big character's storylines to have something life changing happen to them. Phil, Sharon, Ben, Ian, Jane, Mick, Linda, Ronnie, Billy, Roxy, Denise, Masood, Max, Martin, Stacey, Dot, Patrick it's a weird thing to complain about but there are too many 'legendary', untouchable characters about. The new producer needs to start introducing new, fresh characters with exciting storylines instead of relying on past glories. As for Ronnie it's sad to see her go, imo they should have kept on with her villainous arc: after everything she had been through it made sense to take her in that direction, but they wussed out of it.

Good. She's been notably coasting for over a year now and if SOC made the decision for her to go then I applaud his bravery. I hope Ronnie is killed off so that Samantha isn't tempted to return a few years down the line when she's in need of an easy pay cheque.

I do hope this doesn't mean the end of Roxy, though. During the time Ronnie was in a coma, Roxy genuinely came into her own. I think her sister leaving for good could be the absolute making of her.

You haven't spoiled it for anyone. Thanks for posting. I'll miss Ronnie Mitchell, really hope they don't kill her off.

I totally agree; there was a lot of fanfare about Scott Maslen coming back - there were interviews about Jack & Ronnie being "end-game". So, you would think that they'd be given a happy-ever-after and not an "explosive" storyline that may see one or the other or both die.

What a waste of bringing both of them back in the first place.

The new producer's axings have been spot on so far long may that continue the show needs a shake up.

I hope not. Roxy doesn't need Ronnie,it's strange as both characters benefit the most when they have stories away from each other.
