the fact that they've completely ripped off the chorus of ugly heart bothers me considering what happened with that band.

After 4 hours yesterday until the time cut off, SOTME is already #14 in the midweeks! Since streaming was missing its est. the song pulled in 10,000 sales.
Now it looks like this 1 Little Mix - Shout Out to My Ex 1.0000 2 James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go 0.3467 It debuted at #54 on Spotify this morning which is a big start. Hitstastic needs to crunch some numbers but if their sales keep up it looks like they might grab #1 to me, or at least Top 3. Next week it looks like #1. |

I never liked the XF performance. The vocals were all the place. It fact, it sounded unrehearsed.
Not impressed with the song to be honest. Might be a grower but it doesn't sound well produced. They really progressed with their sound on album 2. They went 10 steps backwards with album 3 but it was still enjoyable, fun and appealing. I also find Perrie dreadfully unlikeable these days. Her and Zayn split like 18 months ago. Get over it love. She still finds every opportunity she can to make digs at him in the press and now in this song. |

GA's early guitar-based sounds were just as important as their later electronic sounds. 'Sounds of the Underground' , 'No Good Advice' and 'Biology' are just as good and probably more influential than 'Call the Shots' or 'Sexy, no, no, no'. And then there was a retro feel about the 'Out of Control' album after 'Tangled Up'.
What I am talking about though is that by album 3/4, their sound started to evolve and mature as they get older, and in return they started to attract a new fanbase to add to their existing one. Little Mix are on album #4 now but going by the evidence of "Shout out to my ex", it sounds like they aren't evolving at all and still sound like teenagers when they are now young women in their mid-twenties. |

LOL!!!I checked Kworb last night and saw the first Little Mix update when they overtook James Arthur. It wasn't until this afternoon during my lunch break at work when I checked Kworb again and I had a ![]() moment. I wasn't expecting those type of sales but clearly this tactic of releasing the song with the exclusive first performance on X Factor has undoubtably worked brilliantly.I also have to admit despite dreading the song title initially, Shout Out To My Ex is another pop nugget that follows on nicely from the Get Weird era. For me, I'm glad that the girls have stuck with this formulae as it is clearly working. So to the numbers. 10k sold in 4 hours and their lead over James Arthur has extended even further today. So on iTunes I reckon they will sell 14-15k today. Here's my workings out.I estimate James Arthur as selling between 6-7k a day. If Little Mix pushed James' Kworb figure down to 0.25 then they would be selling 3 times as many downloads. At the moment, James is down to 0.31 so not quite the ratio of 3:1 but still comfortably selling double what James is. Plus Little Mix got to #54 on Spotify after just 4 hours of streaming so they have definitely racked up 814 sales from Spotify but that should easily increase. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Little Mix on the verge of going top 10 in tomorrows update. James Arthur got a boost last week after performing his single on X Factor. This week James won't have that same boost so I doubt his single is going to sell over 100k like last week. I'm gonna forecast 90k for James Arthur this week so once I see tomorrow's Spotify update I'll have a better idea of how well Little Mix could potentially do this week. Despite losing two days of sales, if they maintain these high figures all week on iTunes and maybe make #1 on Spotify by Wednesday then Little Mix might just enter at #1 this coming Sunday. If (and it's a big if) Little Mix shoot up to #1 on Spotify tomorrow then I think adding their high sales on iTunes, SOTME should debut at #1 with over 100k. Major Lazer achieved 100k first week, as did Zayn. Even Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna achieved over 100k in its first week of release but was kept off the top spot by Drake's One Dance. |

Is my math off? If he's 30% of them arent they 3-1? So 20k daily if he's 7k (but you say he got a boost so probably not)?
I dont see them higher than Top 20 on Spotify. Also they lost 3 days: Friday, Saturday and almost all of Sunday. Pop Crave @PopCrave 'Shout Out To My Ex' has debuted at #4 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart. Congratulations, @LittleMix! #ShoutoutToMyEx |

I don't think Perrie has made a big deal of her Ex until now. Taylor Swift and Adele have made entire careers out of music about their Exs.
Did you notice in one of the recent written interviews Jade did mention Alanis as inspiration for this album? I am expecting some angry song(s) in there. I guess I expect things like this? "The pen is mightier than the sword" and all, and havent troubadours been singing pointed commentary since the Middle Ages? |

I really liked Salute and Get Weurd but this lead single is so mediocre. I was really pumped for last night's performance but the song is just weak. I'm glad others don't seem to think so but I myself just feel it's a bit meh.

The lyrics of the song are all over the place. Zayn apparently 'broke her heart' but she's not sure 'if she loved him anyway.' She definitely loved him, regardless of what he was like in bed. He smokes a lot of weed so that will have impacted on his bedroom performance, no doubt.

I'd be more bothered by the other group using their dead member's twitter account to fuel a pointless twitter hashtag tbh

If there's one thing that LM can't be accused of, it's not rehearsing. They're famous for their preparation.

Shoutout To My Ex is #4 on UK Spotify today! That's huge!
#4 with 405,012 plays. JA is at 511,174. I think they have #1 this week. And they are back to green updates on iTunes. 1 Little Mix - Shout Out to My Ex 1.0000 1.0000 2 James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go 0.2972 0.2991 |

Midweeks (via Buzzjack)
1 James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go (48.5k) 2 Little Mix - Shout Out to My Ex (34.3k) * 3 The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey - Closer (31.7k) 4 The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy (29.2k) 5 Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd - Starving (22.2k) The song rocketed to #4 on Spotify with 400k streams yesterday and its widened its margin on iTunes with every update. I think its going #1. Amazing performance. From Buzzjack Yeah absolutely no doubt that Little Mix will be #1 this week. At the current rate, James is set for 87k, Little Mix are set for 107k, and that's without factoring in the HUGE increase in streams they had today! |

Wow!
![]() I did completely miscalculate the figures then! I was thinking 0.250 on Kworb would be the equivalent of 3:1 and then 0.200 would be 4:1 but that couldn't possibly be right. **facepalm** ![]() So Little Mix sold 24k yesterday alone which is extraordinary. SOTME should easily be #1 then. What an excellent release strategy this was. Little Mix have pulled it off spectacularly. ![]() OT; I also really like the Hailee Steinfeld song as well so nice to see two decent new songs going high in this coming Friday's UK chart. About time we got rid of Cold Water, Let Me Love You and Dancing On My Own from the top 10 as they've been in there for 3 months each. |

And Alanis Morrissette (well it made her, she's happy now) and Carly Simon had one of the biggest Pop songs ever.

They should hbe proud of their sales, unfortunately they will look back on the song in years to come and cringe rather than be proud.

Sounds like you will.. I highly doubt from the money they'll make from it, they'll be "cringing" at all. I think it's a great song

The good thing about them is that they have a good rapport...will they break the girl-band mould/stereotype and keep releasing music for many years to come, rather than break up like most girl bands after 4 or 5 albums?
I just hope they do some killer dance stuff eventually but I just don't see it. Jesy is usually the picky one and she loves this song. |

1 James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go (60.5k) 2 Little Mix - Shout Out to My Ex (55.2k) * 3 The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey - Closer (39.5k) 4 The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy (37.1k) 5 Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd - Starving (28.5k) Their sales are slowing a bit but they will easily overtake JA by tomorrow and get that #1 on Friday. What an accomplishment! So Little Mix sold roughly 7-8k more than James yesterday. If those sales remain the same today then tomorrow Little Mix could overtake James as I project sales of 72k for James and 74k for Little Mix which leaves Thurday's sales. Little Mix are performing on The One Show tonight so that could give them a boost in tomorrow's sales. SOTME might just about scrape 100k but they should comfortably get over 90k at least. Fantastic way to kickstart this era.

^^And on 4 days too! I'm thinking they'll carry that first week momentum over to next week, and the video is coming out Friday too. They have weekend promotion in the UK then a tv performance in Belgium on the 25th so likely in Europe next week. Hopefully the video and streaming keeps the song up.
This will be their first Q4 #1 in stiffer competition. So much for Bruno Mars. I'm also reading more people finding less similarity to the GRL song with increased familiarity with Shoutout to My Ex. |
