Aaron is not really the pet name sort of person. He doesn't even call Robert Rob. So what kind of thing would suit him?

Everyone across the fandom is on such a downer. Not sure why but I thought tonight's ep was great as was all of this week

I'm not bothered about them being affectionate at the moment, them working together and supporting each other is enough for me.

As Lucie says, we don't know what goes on behind closed doors and let's face it, we're not going to find out

Anyone else love the way Ryan says 'that's very strange' in the scrapyard scene with Lachlan...? He's so good at being bad...it's brilliant - I can't stop watching it lol. I need help...

Also, I'm not sure I like the 'mate' thing either but like Random, I'm struggling to think of any names they could call each other...suggestions?!

errmmm... "bro" ? jk

Can we please stop this getting hung up on 'mate' - it wasn't even used in a romantic conversation tonight - it was really just a way to start the talk about what had happened. Different if he'd said "mate I love you"! It's just a word. Sorry but I don't think it needs to over analysed.

this is the reason why i'm not bothered by all these lolz... at the end of each day, robron share the same bed and there they can touch each other up to their hearts's content and call each other terms of endearment til the ermmm cocks crow in the morning

Yeah I don't get it. It was clearly sarcasm on Robert's part. Robert doesn't really go around advising Aaron not to start screaming tantrums around teens either.

Oh Tink, I'm not on a downer loved the Robron stuff this week it's been excellent, I'm just a bit off about the mate thing but reading other peoples comments I agree what else would they call each other apart from Robert & Aaron (behind closed doors who knows but the mind can wander)

actually robert did call chrissie 'babe' - not sure he would call aaron that, but the episode in which chrissie discovers someone is watching porn (right before the 2nd hotel) he calls her babe in that episode.
So one time then? That's not prolific is it in 8 months? I mean if anything it's evidence it's not something Robert really does.

Every scene with them should have them making doe eyes at each other and on the verge of a passionate kiss before falling into bed, you should know this by now .

Well i mean they don't have to call each other anything. If you looked at the example tonight the sentence could have still be said perfectly well without the inclusion of the word mate.

Aaron and Jackson used to call each other mate too and it annoyed the fandom then.

Well i cant see them saying "Hi babe, how was work today" or "Hi sweet cheeks did you get much scrap lifted today" The mate things doesn't bother me, i think it's probably what ED use as their term of endearment as babe would be for say Kerry to Dan. I loved their scenes and think they are just so comfortable around each other (something that looking back to the lodge/scrapyard rant scenes) I never thought that we would get this so Im happy if they are happy

I've genuinely loved all the recent stuff and very much looking forward to what's coming up, no negativity here, honest

Which begs the question why are some so adamant it's wrong for them to use 'mate' when referring to each other?

I don't even think Robert was using mate as a term of endearment. It was a joke based on pretending Aaron was the child who had a tantrum instead of Liv. It was just a way of trying to break the tension as couples do sometimes.

I dont know. To some it can be perceived as just a mates thing, but i take it as their term of endearment purely because they're a couple. I just cant see them saying anything slushy to e/o, it's not their style. Im happy theyre happy, there's no fighting, no angst, no lying, nothing for us to worry about, they're on the same page where the Whites are concerned, they're bringing them down 'together' amd have a huge romantic/edge of your seat storyline coming up. Whats not to be happy about
