Hi from the 'lurker' world. I have been following Emmerdale since forever, still remember Andy and Robert as young kids and Victoria being born. Been reading this forum since the beginning of Robron and love your posts and your banter. Just popped in to say that I love robron as they are...yes a bit more fluff wouldn't go amiss but in all honesty once they became a couple I wasn't expecting anything racy to happen between them or any unnecessary touching/kissing/hand holding etc.. That was all during the affair phase and most of it was done because it led up to something else. The port-cabin scene comes to mind. I remember whilst watching it, even though I loved it, I couldn't appreciate it as I knew the Lodge would follow. Whilst I hated the post reunion stuff, especially Liv's introduction, a character I'm afraid I still can't warm up to, and their constant on/off thing without a proper follow up, I have to admit that since they got back from the Wales trip their scenes are spot on, the banter is brilliant and now they are working together to bring down the Whites! I believe people in general, me included, will always want more..one minute we complain about them not sharing a scene, the next they're in the same room but they are acting 'matey', then because their kisses are not as we expect them, constant comparing with other gay couples, who in my opinion don't even compare to Robron. Coming from someone who was never a huge fan of Aaron's (even though I warmed up to him in his second stint) and had an on/off love/hate with Robert (never warmed up to Karl Davies I'm afraid) I absolutely am in love with this present Robert and Aaron... shipped them from the beginning, loved their affair and am enjoying their new found stability. Throw in the mix, the electric chemistry between Ryan and Danny, which conveys in every scene they share, and I say thank you to the soap gods oh and Happy Birthday to sugding...wish you a good one!

The difference,Andy, is that the affair was just that - two people sexually attracted and excited about each other. It was secret and intense,and depended on Robert being able to get away from his wife.

The flames of passion burn deeply, but only for a shortish time - they always cool down and Robert and Aaron now seem to be like two content men, happy with each other who spend most of their time together,as do and are most couples , straight or gay.

The only one constantly on heat is ex-prostitute Charity, and her scenes with Cain are just sickly in every sense of the word.

If I may be allowed to say so, I think some of the fan-fic, and the artistic, realistic, but - nonetheless,sub-pornographic pictures of what some people imagine Robron get up to, raises some people's expectation levels. It is a case of preferring the box to the chocolates, so to speak. I think it is refreshing to see two gay men portrayed as just ordinary men with ordinary lives and ideas.

Welcome, Kate. Though unknown to me, you are somebody after my own heart. I don't like Liv and never will and the one thing I cannot buy in this story is the way Aaron has become the best big brother in the world. Other than that in Danny and Ryan they have two of the greatest actors the series has ever had, and they always bring a touch of professionalism and interest to what can sometimes be very humdrum scripts.

It certainly doesn't for me, i don't read any fan fic and the only time i see fan drawaings is if it was linked on here and people said it was funny, i don't go for the sexualised ones at all.

I watched the scenes from the last couple of eps last night actually and thought that i was quite harsh on them but i still think that it's not great overall. For example, the difference it would have made for just a tiny change of Aaron stroking Roberts arm instead of tapping it. These are tiny little things that aren't people asking for them to be all over eachother but just slight differences that they would have preferred and made the whole situation better.

I thought it was for tonight as well. I think spoilers got the days wrong. It would be nice to see them but I think thats it for them this week. *shrugs*

I love this post! I agree. Especially the bit in bold - so true! People were complaining that they're not together, ED are keeping them apart then when they are together, like you said, people aren't happy cause they're acting 'matey' (which I think is a bit of a stretch.) They can't win.


The spoilers I saw, which were for the same ep mentioned three things, two of which we got last night (Lachlan calling Liv a 'charity case' and Robert convincing Aaron to fight the Whites) the other was Chrissie threatening Robert to stay away from Lachlan which we never got.

We'll just have to wait to see what tonight's ep brings and if we don't get it tonight then I'd say that scene was deleted as Robert isn't in the cast list for next week.
