I think since Ryan Hawley has taken over the role he has played Robert as the son Jack was disappointed in. I don't see anything new here. This is Jack from Robert's perspective. Whether or not his assessment is correct could be up for debate, but since Jack is gone its really only Roberts perception that matters. Its his subjective understanding.

Honestly wasn't Robert talking to Liv at Gordon's funeral and comparing to his father's a bit worse than what he said to Aaron yesterday.

Loved that because of course Robert knows even though Aaron doesn't say it.
