Actual I think Frank is the most useless character on the soap. I just imagine he's the kind of character the Robron haters would love. He will probably need to pop up in every scene from now on.

One of the most endearing things about Aaron is that he has always hidden his fears and vulnerability, with pride and a degree of arrogance, but people who really know him (Chas, Adam,Paddy, Jackson and now Robert) , know that is just a front for a damaged and rather lonely character, who finds it hard to seek help or take advice. I think a lot of people, for whatever reason, resent Aaron and Robert (Robert especially), and they want to think he is fickle enough to leave Aaron for any implausible reason.

The resentment of Robert and Aaron is because they are incredibly popular as a couple. I think there are just some people who can't get over it because its not the couple they want to popular. Then they make up all sorts of ridiculous scenarios to describe why they will break up or are the most objectionable couple on t.v.

And they are bitter that the writers are "writing fanfiction" to "pander" to the ooh so powerful Robron shippers lobby. The lobby of teenage fangirls who, you know, forced the producers to create Robron in the first place. (sarcasm)

What gets me most is not the character bashing, but the dismissive and condescending tone they use to refer to all Robron shippers, even though they'll deny and reply that "Robron shippers do it too!!".

Anyway, they can get as bitter as they like... we are only buying what the show is selling. Everyone's happy... except them!

I do suspect that it is because they are a same sex couple. I know I put this point on the MT once, and there were a lot of outraged denials, but, it reminded me of the "I'm not racist, but..." that a lot of people give out with. There is nothing to object about either of them. They are both flawed but they make each other better, unlike, say Cain and Charity, and they are equals, especially with the repartee.

Oh I agree that's part of it. The outrageous reaction to that throw away line about Jack Sugden proves that. I pretty sure some on the MF did not watch Monday's episode or only watched to find something to object to.

Then I think there is the contingent of those who want to see gay couples portrayed differently. There aren't enough erotic scenes, they are abusive to each other etc. That's part of this couple's success. They aren't being used to deliver a "message" and are treated like any other soap couple.

Plus being buried alive. For me it's the terror of not being able to breathe. Apart from panic attacks, I've had the breathe knocked out of me in a couple of accidents before where I couldn't breathe & it was such a horrible/frightening feeling. Would be a total nightmare being trapped in a sinking car & Danny's reaction to that was brilliant!!
