I hate Delena on The Vampire Diaries, and I hate Ste/Harry on HO, for example. I am convinced that those pairings, who I find awful on every level, appeal mainly to young girls (Ste/Harry, especially), but I don't begrudge them for that. People like what they like, just like I do. There are different things targeted at different kind of audiences, and that's the way it should be. I leave them to their shipping, and I concentrate on what I like. I certainly don't spend all my time on a forum bashing them and their ships. Don't people have better ways to spend their time?? Some posters on the main forum literally bash Robron in every single one of their posts. That's true commitment... and I don't get it.

Several of those viewers said that had the Jack episode really happened they would have shown it on TV, but ITV, even today, is very conservative and I don't think underaged gay sex, would have been mentioned let alone suggested on screen fifteen years ago. Another poster also accused Aaron of lying about his sexual abuse by Gordon (they would have shown that, wouldn't they - an 8-16 year old lad being raped by his dad.

Those viewers love and respect for Jack, is I strongly suspect, very questionable. Jack would have been an old fashioned parent. My personal experiences came five years before Roberts, but, though there was no physical abuse, there was a lot of verbal abuse, when emotional blackmail and threats of "treatment" (psychotherapy and hormonal - refused) failed. Both my parents were health professionals, so I can well imagine a man of the soil would have been even more severe!

Why shouldn't some forms of media be produced to appeal to young woman. Believe me on the whole mainstream media does not bend over backwards to appeal to young women. Quite the contrary.

Indeed!! As I said, different things for different audiences. Anyway, even if Robron was targeted to a teenage audience and so popular because of that (which I don't believe is true, because as we all know people of all ages enjoy them), why would that make so many people foam at the mouth with irrational hatred?? That I think is true. I haven't seen Hollyoaks for ages, but when I did there was always an excuse for one or other or both,usually, to have their shirts off (one one occassion in the school room!). Youget the occassional scene with Robron, but there is usually a reason for it (Aaron in the bath Robert in bed). I think Robron appeal both to different age groups (I am 37) and both sexes (male in my case).

I think that the people they come across though at the studios and places and the main bulk of twitter activity Danny see's is young girls. That's why he and ryan think that. Obviously there are lots of different ages of fans and lots of male fans, it's just that i think the bulk of what they experience is the younger girls type of group as they are a bit more excitable and active probably.
