That's true,and of course we know the contempt ITV has for it's viewers by giving us the potato fetishists 4 times a night (and 8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays) but IMcL is pandering to them. Rules are made to be broken, and I would be giving them a Proustian take on village life, where people are not constantly getting kidnapped or murdered or starting affairs with everyone who has a pulse.
