I actually loved the element of surprise, usually us viewers know what is happening before the charaters, but I liked the way Jane wrote it.

To make matters worse, the Emmerdale people keep putting Pierce in those tight little cycling shorts but not Aaron and Robert.

I just felt sorry for Aaron, both Liv and Robert being so indifferent in this episode. I just know that Aaron has been given a hard time before when he's acted similarly. But he didn't seem so bothered about it so guess i shouldn't be. I'm just waiting for the moment we actually get nice scenes between them where they actually seem interested in each other.

I really liked the episode.Enjoyed Paddy and Aaron again as I have missed their scenes and I love when Paddy looks out for Aaron.Aaron really loves Paddy.Loved the boys scheming to bring the Whites down and Aaron being totally on board to help Robert.Both looking gorgeous.....again.I do wish we could get some passion back for a bit again though,as I have really missed that

My fav. bits were Aaron protecting Robert from sexual assaulter trash and Robert telling Chrissie she should be used to people cheating on her. I love his trash mouth used for good.

I still don't think they've got the balance right in the more casual scenes though. I mean neither of them seem bothered! I mean I know Robert's preoccupied but even Aaron who supposedly wanted to go out was all "I suppose it's just me and you then" like he couldn't be arsed. I long for those days where he seemed a bit more enamoured by him, heart eyes etc. I don't know if it's Emmerdale's choice or what but two lads together shouldn't mean "Oi, mate" and tapping each other on the arm.

Anyway, I liked those final scenes, I just always feel disheartened by how platonic they make it seem when they were once so passionate.

That has got to be the most Robron we've had in together in one episode for a long time. Brilliant to see them both on the same side working together.
Chrissie genuinely seemed worried when Robert said he was going to call the police - the super bitch facade seemed to crumble a bit when she thought she might actually get caught out.

Must say not bothered about James being killed off. Never particularly liked or cared for the character. I guess all of the Bartons & Cain will be likely suspects in the murder?

The idea of going out though was for them to spend time with Liv, not for a date night. They see each other and spend time with each other all the time where as the point was them spending time as a unit with Liv, so if Liv wasn't bothered then it takes away the special aspect of it. . I saw more of Aaron being bothered in this ep than I've seen in a while, it was Robert who was indifferent to right down cold, preoccupied or not.

BIB: So if it isn't Emmerdales choice, what are you suggesting? Though i do agree with the point of the lack of passion and actually just generall nice scenes where they seem to, oh you know, love each other. And yes, tonight we did get a "mate" and arm tap didn't we. Sigh.

If I didnt know they were together I would think they were mates at best. Never get ILYs/hugs/Kisses like the straight couples. The arm tapping drives me nuts.

It's really sad, especially if confronted with other British soaps. ED seems to have gone back to the 80s.

Anyway, I really miss the Moira Barton channel, they used to have the episode up so quickly!!

I think that's the first time Robert had a dig at Aaron's self harming scars in that scene too! The scene may not be a fave because of the way Robert lashed out at Aaron for taking him there, but I did think it well written, sharp & really punched below the waist. Robert's words were ruthless!! The most ruthless way he spoke to Aaron though was at the scrapyard.

Truth be told Robert's really good with put downs when he wants to be. Would love to see Robert use his words really ruthlessly again (holding back no punches) towards Chrissie this time in a future scene.

I get the distinct impression that the couples who are saying ILY and throwing themselves at each other will burn out in a few months time and Robron are meant to last. All the straight couples have an element of being slightly forced.

I was pleasantly surprised that Paddy mentioned Robron. I though it would be ignored like the elephant in the room.
