..noticed Tesco/Herons/Iceland and Farmfoods local to us have all stopped selling Aunt Bessies Homestyle frozen chips, also the croquettes which are the best i have ever had. I wonder why?, seems a bit strange .
That's news to me, in fact I feel like complaing about the fact that the Aunt Bessie rubbish has suddenly ousted many far superior supermarket own brands. I can only think they must have had a recent attempt to dominate the market by offering their rotten products to supermarkets for next to nothing, in an attempt to establish a virtual monopoly.

Yep, certainly is, i prefer Albert Bartlett chips, much nicer and only a pound at the moment at Sainsburys.
The best chips are home made, not that I fry anything these days, use the Ari fryer for chips.
'We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble finding our Chips and Croquettes. Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Co-op, Booths, Nisa, Spar, Ocado and Farmfoods are the supermarkets taking our chips from us and Asda, Sainsburys, Co-op, Booths, Nisa, Spar and Ocado are taking our croquettes . We do only supply to the supermarket depots and can’t control the stock for the individual stores. '

The problem with fresh food is that unless you are a family, it can go off pretty quick. These days I normally use frozen mash, because I do not use enough spuds to buy a bag and they go off, the only thing I do not buy frozen is roasters.
If I want to make chips or have fresh mash, I normally buy a couple of baking spuds.
