Just had a bit of a look. I assume the on demand bit is mostly highlights only. That's very annoying but I guess it's written into the rights from the sport rather than the provider. Like F1. If you miss a race or your sky box fails to record you can't download the whole race, only highlights. That is bloody annoying. But I expect that is part of the contract.

I like MotoGP and see that you can get On Demand on the app but it appears from the murky text that it is highlights only.

Another problem with the BT Sport app the last time I used it is that it opens up with the news page. So if I want to see the last MotoGP race I am faced with a headline of who won it. Brilliant. Maybe it's better now. I think I deleted it from the iPad as it was so football.

I've just had a look Steve and MotoGP from the Czech Republic appears to be there as complete races. It's in hour long sections but the races are there and aren't highlights.

Likewise checking their live football from Saturday shows the complete Leicester v Arsenal match is there.

The home page probably will give the game away if you don't want to know the result so you'll have to come up with something imaginative to avoid that. Maybe some sort of fumbling in the dark.

Cheers for that. Why do they do that on the home page? WHY? ARGGGHHHH.

Anyway. That would be fine for me. Just have to get the missus to get the race started. So to speak.

Edit: we don't have the benefit of that new fangled electric lighting down here in Devon anyway so are well used to fumbling around in the dark.

I'm still p'd off about this and it must be 21 years. 21 years? What?

Anyway, we stayed in a hotel in Bath in 1995. This was a time when recording anything was hit and miss but I think that the BBC were showing a full version of the Brazilian GP during the evening. As we were travelling I had missed the actual race. So we get to the hotel and up comes the show with a pic of Schumi in the 1995 Benetton race suit holding the trophy.

First race of the season and he's got the winners trophy. 95 Race suit so couldn't be any other race.

If there had been a swimming pool, that TV would have gone into it.

Dunno. I think (I suppose subject to random credit check) I have just signed up to an EE business tariff with a 64GB iPhone SE. No BT Sport nonsense and a decent price of £38 plus vat for 25GB a month which I hope to share with the missus on a bought, unlocked phone and maybe a router too for a few quid extra as ADSL is dire in this area.

Probably fail the credit check now as I'm only a lazy chicken farmer.

Ha ha!! I know a lot of farmers, and many have faults, but I've never met a lazy one!

PS: Relating to earlier discussions about Chromecasting BT Sport - I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch it myself, but surely (if on Android) you can just mirror your screen and audio via the Chromecast app if the BT Sport app won't allow it?

You can, and I did try this, but it's not "smooth". I mean it's watchable but it means your phone is out of use for the length of a football match / whatever you're watching.

Also, it destroys your battery

Ah, not a great solution. The battery thing is easy to overcome if you're Chromecasting as you're generally in a position where you can put it on charge at the same time - but the other limitations are less easy to deal with.

On another note, if I'm interpreting EE's latest tweet correctly it looks like they may announce a music subscription option tomorrow:

Yes it's a six month free trial of Apple Music.

Bit different from when I used them and it was Deezer!

Are free trials that great? Sure, it saves a few quid but ultimately if you choose to stick with it (as hoped) then you've now got an additional monthly spend.

It's better that EE gives BT Sport for free for as long as you're a customer, although I'd prefer to have the benefits of the Max Plan without BT Sport at all.

Vodafone gives you Spotify or Netflix for the duration of your minimum term, which isn't great but at least you can always negotiate for a new contract and get it back.

But BT loves doing discounts up front to hide high prices. I am sure we'll see the new plans being discounted on a 'first 3 months free' or 'six months half price' and other confusing deals that make it hard to make comparisons. I guess it is because people see the discounted price and not the small print to see what they'll actually be paying after (and, while you can obviously work it out - I guess people don't and sales staff won't mention it).

I'm currently with Vodafone (until November, anyway) and have used the Spotify Premium entertainment add-on.

Must admit I've switched to Apple Music as I tend to find their catalogue has more of the original songs than Spotify does.

I can't imagine there'll be many people continuing once the 'free' trial expires.

Didn't they drop Netflix as an option months ago?

Ah, yes they did. It's now Spotify, Now TV and Sky Sports.
