Of course it does, but it won't change a damn thing about the way society is headed.
Any kind of thoughtfulness or intellectual curiousity is belittled at best and bullied out of children at worst - and this has been the case for decades now. I'm a pacifist, but I do get slightly nostalgic about the good old days of conscription - except that would mean giving these people weapons!!!

Biggins may or may not have been fairly treated, Channel 5 refuse to reveal what he said.

The Spectator writer really has no concept of what is or is not allowed on a low-rent show in an Ofcom regulated medium.

The article is about society and civilisation, not tv channels.

The Spectator article reads as if it was dictated by Biggins himself.

You don't who The Borg are?

The Borg are a collection of species that have been turned into cybernetic organisms functioning as drones in a hive mind called "the Collective" or "the Hive"

The Borg use a process called assimilation to force other species into the Collective by injecting microscopic machines called nanoprobes. The Borg are driven by a need for 'perfection', and assimilate other races to further that goal.

Firstly I would question the use of "liberal website" when referring to the Huffington Post, and secondly I find it incomprehensible (substitute offensive if you will) that a jew could even READ the Daily Mail, let alone write for it, as Grant Feller did. (Google Daily Mail+Hitler to understand why).

Or as Neil Gaiman put it ...

I was reading a book (about interjections, oddly enough) yesterday which included the phrase “In these days of political correctness…” talking about no longer making jokes that denigrated people for their culture or for the colour of their skin. And I thought, “That’s not actually anything to do with ‘political correctness’. That’s just treating other people with respect.”

Which made me oddly happy. I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase “politically correct” wherever we could with “treating other people with respect”, and it made me smile.

You should try it. It’s peculiarly enlightening.
I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking “Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!”

The Spectator, while not my personal cup of tea, is the oldest publication in the world. They will know exactly how many beans make five and will have a very good insider's view of what an OFCOM regulated medium and a low rent show permits in the writing of this piece. To imply that the Spectator write from a perspective of ignorance is barmy.
